University of Calicut, School of Distance Education [UOC-SDE], Malappuram Admission 2021: Dates, Selection Criteria, Eligibility, Application Process

The University of Calicut, School of Distance Education, Malappuram has already released application forms for CUMAT, Calicut University Management Aptitude Test on 27th April 2021. Candidates can fill the forms online for admission in MBA for the session 2021-22. For the courses other than MBA, admission is to be conducted on a merit basis.

The University of Calicut, School of Distance Education, offers six different courses (in distance mode) at UG and PG level in three streams namely Science, Commerce, and Arts. BA, B.Sc., B.Com., M.Sc., M.Com., etc are some of the courses for which merit-based admissions are conducted. No official announcement has been made for admissions to other courses in 2021 but registrations are expected to tentatively start from May 31, 2021, online.

  • The overall CUMAT Cut-off fixed for shortlisting was 70 for the MBA course. However, stats keep on changing because the cutoff is decided every year by the university administration
  • Averagely, students need to score above 75% marks in the entrance exam for the MBA course.
  • For admission to an MBA course, students must also go through group discussions and personal interviews.
  • Students from SC/ ST or other backward groups can get a relaxation of 5 to 10 percent marks in the counseling procedure.
  • For the courses other than MBA, like BA, B.Sc., B.Com., M.Sc., M.Com., admission is to be conducted on a merit basis

UOC-SDE UG Admissions 2021

A number of courses are offered by the university for the UG level. Some of them include BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc. The duration of these courses is 3 years.

  • To be eligible for BA /B.Sc./ B.Com. students must have 45% marks in aggregate in their HSE (10+2) from Kerala State Board or any other equivalent examination in a relevant discipline.

  • Admission to UG courses at the University of Calicut, School of Distance Education is based upon the merit in the previous exam. Candidates will be informed if they will be shortlisted.

  • However, admission to MBA is based upon the entrance exam CUMAT conducted by University.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For admission to an MBA course, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and a valid CUMAT score

Selection Criteria

  • Preliminarily, students will be selected on the basis of CUMAT scores if they have fulfilled the basic eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates will be selected for the subsequent other rounds of admissions on the basis of cutoff decided after the counseling round.
  • Also, group discussions, personal interviews, and past academic records are taken into consideration.
