Thadomal Shahani Engineering College Admission 2021: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC), Mumbai offers BE courses in 5 specializations. The college ranked 60th (in the Engineering category) by The Week 2020. Admission to BE is done on 10+2 marks and MHT-CET/JEE Main score followed by counselling. Applicants can seek admission through CAP (Centralized Admission Process) also. The application process is via online mode only.

  • JEE Main (May Session) application process and exam have been delayed. The application process is expected to start in the month of August 2021, the month when the 12th board exams are scheduled. MHT CET 2021 application process is expected to start in the month of June 2021 but the official notification is yet to be released. After qualifying the entrance exam, applicants will have to clear the counselling round. Selection will be done on the basis of an exam as well as counselling.
  • For the UG course, an applicant must have passed 10+2/equivalent in PCM/PCB with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved). The total intake for BE course is 450 students, wherein, 180 seats are for Computer Engineering, 120 for Information Technology, 60 for Chemical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication each and 30 for Biomedical Engineering.
  • Thadomal Shahani Engineering College has reserved 20% seats for applicants applying under the Institute quota. The college also offers many scholarships for applicants if they meet the eligibility criteria.

TSEC Mumbai BE Admission Criteria 2021

TSEC offers a four-year BE course with specialization in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, and Biomedical Engineering. The fee is INR 189,403 for 1st year.

TSEC Mumbai BE Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants seeking admission to TSEC, Mumbai BE course will have to fall under one of the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Maharashtra State Applicants: 10+2/equivalent qualified applicants in PCM/PCB with an aggregate minimum of 45% marks (5% relaxation for reserved category) are eligible along with one of the following eligibility criteria:
    1. Passed 10+2/equivalent from a recognized institute in Maharashtra/ Maharashtra Karnataka border area and the applicant must reside/be born in Maharashtra.
    2. Applicant’s parent/s are residing in Maharashtra and have a domicile certificate.
    3. Applicant’s parent/s is a Government of India or Government of India Undertaking employee and the parent/s has been posted in Maharashtra before CAP’s application last date.
    4. Applicant’s parent/s is a Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking employee or retired employee.
  2. All India Applicants: Indian applicants who have passed 10+2/equivalent in PCM/PCB with an aggregate minimum of 45% marks (5% relaxation for reserved category) are eligible.

TSEC Mumbai BE Selection Criteria

  • Maharashtra State Applicants: Applicants who have qualified MHT-CET entrance exam with a non-zero score are eligible to apply for TSEC, Mumbai BE course.
  • All India Applicants: Applicants who have qualified JEE Main / MHT CET entrance exam with a non-zero score are eligible to apply for the BE course offered by Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Mumbai.

Note: First preference will be given to JEE Main qualified applicants, then to MHT-CET qualified applicants.
