The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) was established on October 3, 1997. The University offers three year as well as five year Integrated Graduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D courses in law. Courses offered are – BA.L.L.B (hons.), L.L.M, B.com + L.L.B (hons), B.C.A + L.L.B, BBA.LLB, LLB, LLM and Ph.D. The university is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) University Grants Commission (UGC).

Admission process in the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University begins in the month of June, selection is completely based on the merit scored by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Ph.D admissions are based on the Entrance Test which is followed by an Interview.

The application process of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar University is both online and offline.

  • For admission in any undergraduate courses the candidate needs to have a minimum qualification marks of 55% for SC/ST and NRI candidates and 60% for general candidates.
  • Admission to integrated courses are based on minimum qualification marks of 60% for SC/ST candidates and 70% for general candidates.
  • Admission to LL.M courses are based on minimum qualifying marks of 45% under new regulations and 40% under old regulation for candidates who have successfully completed their three year or five year undergraduate degree course in law with respective qualifying marks.
  • Admission to Ph.D courses are based completely on the merit scored by the candidate in the Entrance Test and Interview conducted by TNDALU.

  • Jeeva Endowment Scholarship: This scholarship is offered only to those students who clear all their exams in 1st attempts and to the First 5 rank holders in each year of 3 years and 5 years of B.L and M.L degree courses only in the affiliated branch of govt colleges.
  • Thirumalaisamy Audiseshan Endowment: Through this endowment the deserving students get a gold medal. This endowment is awarded to students who get-

TNDALU Application Process

The application process for admission to integrated Undergraduate courses is mentioned step by step in below points-

  • The application form is availed to the candidates online as well as offline.
  • For online and its need to register themselves as a new candidate and then login with their username and password.
  • Next they need to choose a degree, make online payment and fill the application carefully.
  • After filling the application, candidates need to submit the application online.
  • Offline Application can be ordered by post or bought directly from the office of the registrar.
  • Application forms which are seeked by post for them candidates need to write a requisition letter by mentioning the course that he or she wants to pursue along with the required fee or challan to the registrar.
  • The respective challan can be downloaded from the university website; the application processing fee which is paid through cash, demand draft, money order, cheque or bank pay order etc will not be accepted.

The application process for Ph.D courses are solely conducted online, the following steps explain the steps to be followed for applying to Ph.D courses at TNDALU-

  • candidates need to download the application form for admission in PhD from the official website of the university.
  • candidates required to fill it carefully and then send the field in form with all the needed documents and a demand draught of rupees 1000.
