Located in Sion, Mumbai City, the SIES College of Commerce & Economics was first established in May 1989 by the South Indian Education Society. And with years the college has grown in excellence in various sectors of education and is now among the leading educational institutions in Mumbai. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce, Management, IT, Banking and Insurance, Accounting and Finance. The institute also has a junior college with about 1000 enrolled students.

SIESCE is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Thus, this requires the students seeking admission to first register with the UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI for the course they seek. One can choose from the various academic courses/ programs under commerce faculty. The college has continually shown promising overall results. Some reputed campus placement recruiters are J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, ING Vysya, ICICI Prudential, Allianz Bajaj, HDFC Standard Life, etc.

SIES Admission Updates

Admission at SIES College of Commerce & Economics is merit based. The application form is usually available offline. The eligibility criteria is that the candidates should have passed the higher secondary school certificate (std. XII) examination conducted by different divisional boards or Maharashtra State board with not less than 45% for UG admissions. For PG admissions, the candidate should have passed UG Examinations related to the course with 45% from University of Mumbai or any other University recognised by U.G.C.

The admissions for the academic year 2021- 2022 are yet to be announced.

  • SIES College of Commerce & Economics received NAAC reaccreditation (3rd Cycle) Grade “A” with CGPA 3.02/4.00 and is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
  • The placement cell is active and functioning. In the year 2018-19, a total of 78 students were placed across 15 different companies including TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc.
  • For maximum utilisation and smooth functioning of academic programs, a master chart for classrooms and laboratories is prepared by IQAC in the beginning of every academic year. This master timetable is to be followed throughout the year.
  • For the B.Sc. (IT) Course, students with HSC-Diploma in computer engineering? Computer Science/ Computer technology will be eligible for direct admission to second year.

SIES Scholarship 

The management offers various scholarship to deserving candidates. Th details are mentioned below:

  1. Seat Scholarship: This scholarship is provided students with their annual family income less than 2.5 lakh. This is only applicable for self-financing courses. The student must have B grade or above in earlier examinations.
  2. Nichal Israni Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is provided students with their annual family income less than 3 lakh. This is only applicable for self-financing courses. The student must have A grade or above in earlier examinations.
  3. Seth Bhojraj Hassomal Charitable Trust Scholarship:  This scholarship is provided students with their annual family income less than 2.5 lakh. This is only applicable for self-financing courses. The student must have B grade or above in earlier examinations, and should not have availed any other govt./ pvt. Scholarship.
