SCD Government College comprises 10 departments that impart post-graduation opportunities to the students, an excellently equipped and expertly maintained library with computerized data takes into account the academic necessities of the young scholars. SCD Government College Ludhiana Scholarships

The students can apply for any of the below-mentioned scholarships which are being provided by the College. The eligible students are required to apply for the same in the prescribed form before the deadlines. It is to be kept in mind that the provided Scholarships can be withdrawn at any time as per instructions by the Government.

  1. University Scholarships: These scholarships are provided by the university based on merit.
  2. Scholarships by the Punjab Education Board (PEB): These scholarships are provided by the Punjab Government based on merit.
  3. National Scholarships: These are provided by the Central Government based on the merit result.
  4. Scholarships for Scheduled Castes/ Tribes and Backward Classes: These scholarships are provided to eligible students by the Government of India.
  5. Scholarships for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes: These are provided by the State Government.
  6. National loan Scholarships: The loan scholarship can be availed by the students who score 50% or more based on merit, and whose parent’s annual income is not more than INR 25,000/-.

This scholarship amount is interest-free and can be paid back in installments after 3 years from the date of completion of the course.

  1. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme: Under this Scholarship scheme of the Indian Government, permanent residents of Punjab belonging to Scheduled Castes will be granted scholarships in any part of India for Post Matric or secondary education. The family income from all sources of an individual must not exceed INR 2,50,000.
  2. State Scheduled Caste Scheme: The students who belong to scheduled castes and are permanent residents of Punjab and are studying in any of the colleges/institutions of Punjab state, are eligible for this welfare fund. Such students will be granted scholarships under this scheme only if their family income does not exceed INR 2,50,000/-.
  3. Low income-class Scholarship: This scholarship will be provided to the students who do not belong to Scheduled and Backward Caste, but their parent’s annual income is less than INR 2,50,000.
  4. Concessions for Children of Officers/workers martyred in army action: Children of the army, paramilitary officers/employees who were martyred or got handicapped during wars of Indo-Pak, Indo-China, or Sri Lanka army action will be provided the following fee concessions:
    1. Full fee concession
    2. Exemption from the hostel expenses
    3. Book and stationery expenses
    4. The needy students will be provided help in every way possible.

NOTE: Those students who wish to apply for any of the scholarships or concessions under previously mentioned categories are required to send their application to the college office within a week of college admission.
