Sarsuna College Admission 2021: Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Sarsuna College of West Bengal is a public college under the supervision of Calcutta University. It was established in 1999. Different UG and PG level courses are taught in this College. Distance Education is available in PG courses. These are offered through Vidyasagar University, Midnapore.

  • Application forms are filled through online for UG and PG courses.
  • Eligibility Criteria for UG courses is HSC and PG courses is graduation in any stream of Science, Arts and Commerce.

Sarsuna College B.Sc Admission 2021

Sarsuna College gives opportunity of three years B.Sc course in honours and general stream. Eligibility Criteria for the students is 10+2 passed or its equivalent exam with relevant subjects and with at least 50% marks in total. Selection of Science honours is strictly merit based.

Students who have passed HSC from open school and want to admit themselves in UG Science honours stream, will have to pass a college test. Merit list is based on the best four subjects of qualifying exam. Beside this a qualifying marks in the concerned subject of admission is demanded.

Key Notes

  • The top four subjects will not include Environmental education.
  • If Environmental Science is studied as elective subject of 100 marks, it is considered in the top four subjects.
  • Candidates who have taken more than five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying exam, will not get admission.
  • There are 5% relaxation in both total marks and subject percentage criteria for reserved category students.
  • OBC category students can not get any relaxation.

Sarsuna College B.A and B.Com Admission

The College offers Honors and General mode in B.A and B.Com courses for three years span. Students can choose several specialization and they should have passed HSC from a recognised board with concerned subject. Merit list is made on the basis of candidates’ result in HSC.

Key Notes

  • SC/ST/OBC/PC candidates will be given 5% relaxation in total score and subject score.
  • Open school candidates are eligible for admission in B.A and B.Com honours stream.
  • Candidates who have gap of five years in HSC exam from the year of passing will not get admission chance.

Sarsuna College PG Admission

The PG courses of Sarsuna College have both regular and distance education mode for studies. Distance Education mode is under the supervision of Vidyasagar University. There is two years of M.A, M.Sc, M.Com course in various disciplines. Eligibility Criteria for PG courses is graduation in any stream. Admission Process depends on the basis of merit of the candidates in final B.A/B.Sc Honors exam.

Sarsuna College Application Process 2021

Application is available through online. Students can apply separately for more than one course via this online process.

UG courses

For applying online, students should follow the steps, given below –

  • Go to College websites “Admission” tab and then “online Admission”.
  • Fill the application form carefully before submitting it.
  • Print double side of application form and bank challan.
  • INR 125 must be deposited as application fees via offline method only in any branch of ICICI Bank to the College account number ( 0036SLFEECOL)

Note –

Application fee is only accepted from the mentioned Bank. Any non-designated branches of the Bank will not be accepted even though the Bank accepts the application fee.

Students have to bring some original documents during counselling for verification such as –

  • Print Copy of the application form.
  • Students and College copies of Challan with Bank stamp.
  • SSC and HSC passing marksheet and certificate.
  • One attested photocopy of HSC marksheet.
  • Caste Certificate and two passport size photos.

Note –

After verifying the documents the College will give the admit order by stamping. Students have to print this admission challan because it is compulsory at the time of admission.

PG courses

Candidates who want to admit themselves to the first year of PG courses under distance education, can download the form from directorate of Distance Education of Vidyasagar University.

  • Regular students can also pick the form from Sarsuna College.
  • INR 350 has to be paid as application fee in challan through UCO Bank branch of the University.
  • For Distance Education fees can be paid via demand draft drawn in favour of ” Directorate of Distance Education, Vidyasagar University” payable at ‘Midnapore’. The form and the demand draft have to be sent with the following documents : 1. Challan copy of application fee. 2. Self attested photocopies of all academic testimonials. 3. NOC from employee.
