NIT Suratkhal also reserves seats for some categories as per norms prescribed by the Government of India. With the introduction of EWS reservation, 5% of all the categories have reservations for the EWS category too. NIT Surathkal Scholarships
Scholarships are one of the rewards for being a prudent student in academics when it comes to Academic scholarships. There are various scholarships awarded by NIT Surathkal. According to NIRF data, 413 undergraduate NITK students were receiving full reimbursement of tuition fees from the State Govt or Govt of India. Whereas, 1125 students were receiving full reimbursement of tuition from the college funds.
National Institute of Technology, Karnataka offers two types of scholarships which are stated below:
- Merit Scholarship:
- This scholarship offers an amount of ₹10,000 every year to all those candidates who attain it.
- It is awarded to only the top 5 students in order of merit acquired in the JEE Main exam.
- Also, another condition for obtaining this scholarship is to score above 90% in the 10+2 exam.
- Merit-cum-means Scholarship:
- This scholarship offers ₹2,000 per month to 50 candidates in order of their merit in the JEE Main exam.
- The condition of acquiring 70% in 10+2 must also be fulfilled and it is awarded to only those candidates whose family income should be below ₹4.5 lakhs per annum.
- Moreover, the GPU score should be above 7.0 for the preceding year to avail of this scholarship commencing from 2nd year.
