NIT Arunachal Pradesh was established in 2010 and is a part of the 31 esteemed NITs of India. The college is an Institute of National Importance and is approved by AICTE i.e., All India Council for Technical Education.

  • NITAP is ranked 19th among the 31 NITs in India.

  • For admission to any course at NITAP the students. For B.Tech courses at NIT, the students have to get the minimum qualifying JEE Main Cut Off followed by taking part in JoSAA Counselling.
  • The admission is based on the All India Rank of the student in the merit list created after the JEE Main Results are declared.

B. Tech Specialisations Offered

NITAP offers a plethora of specialisation options in the B.Tech course. Below are the listed specialisations:

Two other B.Tech courses – Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology – were being offered before 2019. Even though these are listed on the official website, JoSAA does not conduct counselling for these two courses.

The administration and faculty at NITAP have made several changes since the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the level of education imparted is optimum.

  • The university celebrated the 74th Independence Day through flag hosting and speeches. The program was held online for faculty members and students to join in.

NIT Arunachal Pradesh: Reservations

The admission for B. Tech courses in the college is carried out on the basis of the merit list of JEE Main examination. However, there are some relaxations to the list.

  • 50% seats are reserved under home state quota and 50% are reserved for other state students.
  • There is a separate list for the students with Home State Quota (HS) and Other State Quota (OS).
  • Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories also have reservations.
