New Horizon College of Engineering [NHCE] Bangalore Admissions 2021: Dates, Eligibility, Selection, Application Process

New Horizon College of Engineering [NHCE] is an autonomous institution, established in 2001 and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) situated in Bangalore.

Candidates wishing to seek admission in NHCE can apply through both online and offline modes. NHCE accepts various scores of UG & PG entrance examinations for admissions.

NHCE has recently launched two new courses such as BE in Computer Engineering and BE in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in 2020.The college offers various major courses at UG, PG and Doctoral level such as MBA ,B.E., MCA, Ph.D., M.Tech etc.

For UG programs, candidates need to qualify 10+2 exams in the relevant subjects. For PG programs, candidates must hold a graduation degree in the relevant field. Application form of the mentioned program can be filled from the official website of NHCE.

For admission to BE program candidates need to have a valid score in KCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) and Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges Association (KRLMPCA UGCET). For M.Tech, MBA and MCA admissions candidates must have a valid score in Karnataka PGCET. GATE qualified candidates can apply for M.Tech program. For MBA programs, NHCE accepts CAT/ MAT or XAT scores. For MCA admission candidates must qualify KMAT. For Ph.D. and M.Sc (Engg.) admission is done on the basis of performance in Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and personal Interview.

The college has a placement cell which facilitates students for all career development programs and placements and provides internship opportunities. Some of the top companies that visit the NHCE campus are IBM, Betsol, Peepa, PWC and Simeio Solutions. The highest package offered to the students was INR 20 LPA while the average package was INR 5 LPA.

NHCE Bangalore BE Admission 2021

NHCE offers a 4 years BE programme in nine specializations and admission to all these specializations are offered based on either direct on merit basis or rank obtained by a candidate in KCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Eligibility Criteria for BE

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)

  • Candidates are required to have a valid qualifying score of KCET/KRLMPCA CET.
  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (relaxable by 40% for the candidates of SC/ST/ candidates) with Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/ Computer Science as mandatory subjects from any recognized state board.
  • Candidates must have domiciles in Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria for Management Quota

Admission in management quota is done based on merit. Candidates must have 50% aggregate marks in every subject. Candidates with a sports background can apply for a sports quota seat with an aggregate of 50%.

Selection Process of BE

  • The selection for admission to BE is made on the basis of marks scored by a student in the qualifying exam i.e. KCET or KRLMPCA CET.
  • Students are offered direct admission from management quota on the basis of the merit list prepared by the institute on the marks scored by the students in their 10+2.

NHCE Bangalore M.Tech Admission 2021

NHCE offers a 2 year M.Tech programme in 3 different specialisations i.n. Computer Science and Engineering, Machine Design and Cyber Forensic and Information Security. However, the institute intakes a maximum of 18 students for each specialisation offered. Also, the institute grants admission to the candidates with a valid GATE score or performance in Karnataka PGCET.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech

  • Computer Science & Engineering and Cyber Forensic & InformationSecurity:

Candidates are required to have a valid score of GATE in CS (Computer Science) or Karnataka PGCET and must have completed their bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in Computer Science & Engineering/ Information science from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).

  • Machine Design:

Candidates need to qualify the GATE in ME (Mechanical Engineering or Karnataka PGCET entrance examination and must hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial & Production Engineering/Automobile Engineering from a recognized university or college with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (relaxable by 45% for the students of SC/ST category).

Selection Process of M.Tech

NHCE selects the best eligible students with a valid GATE score or on the basis of performance in Karnataka PGCET entrance examination for the M.Tech programme.

NHCE MBA Admission 2021

NHCE offers a 2 years MBA programme in five distinct specialisations which includes Marketing, Business Analytics, Finance, Human Resource and Operations. The institute accepts the total intake of 180 students for their MBA programme. The basic eligibility and selection criteria is mentioned below for the MBA program.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

  • Candidates wishing to apply for MBA in NHCE must have completed their bachelor’s degree or graduation from any recognized stream and university.
  • A candidate should have secured at least a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (relaxable by 45% for the candidates belonging from SC/ST categories).

Selection Process of MBA

  • The selection to MBA program is made only after a candidate has successfully qualified CAT/ MAT/ XAT with a valid score.
  • If a candidate has not appeared for above mentioned entrance examinations, then he/she can take admission in MBA program based on Karnataka PGCET score.
  • Admission is done on merit basis.

NHCE Bangalore MCA Admission 2021

NHCE offers a full time MCA program of 2 years duration in Computer applications only. NHCE accepts applications of 120 best eligible students per year for the MCA programme.

Eligibility Criteria for MCA

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reserved categories) from any recognized university or college is required for an MCA in NHCE.
  • Students must have studied Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Programming/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Business Mathematics or Business Statistics at the graduation level.

Selection Process of MBA

The candidates are selected either on the merit basis of CAT/ MAT/ XAT or the performance in Karnataka PGCET or KMAT .

NHCE Bangalore Application Process 2021 for BE, M.Tech, MBA, MCA programs

To apply for various UG/PG programs in NHCE a candidate can follow the below mentioned steps.

  • Interested candidates are required to visit the official website of NHCE.
  • Select the ‘E -Application Form’ option if you want to apply online and continue the form filling with all necessary and required important details.
  • Attach/upload your essential asked documents after scanning along with the application form for the verification.
  • Submit the application form and pay the minimal application fee to the institute online through digital payment platforms such as net banking, credit card or debit card and download the payment receipt.
  • As per your reference, take a print out of the payment receipt and application form.
  • Select the ‘Download Form’ option, if you want to apply offline and fill the application form correctly and then send the application form along with the documents required through challan or DD or speed post or directly to the institution by visiting and paying the preliminary application fee.

Documents Required

  • Original 10th and 12th marksheets with 2 sets of photocopy.
  • Original Transfer Certificate with 2 sets of photocopy.
  • Caste certificate in case of SC/ST students (for the students of Karnataka only).
  • 4 passport size and 4 stamp size photographs of the applying candidate.
  • Anti ragging Affidavit on a stamp paper of INR 20 only. However, the format of affidavit will be provided by the college itself.
  • An original migration certificate with 2 sets of photocopy is required for the students who have completed their 10+2 from a board/university other than Karnataka PU board.

NHCE Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) Admissions 2021

NHCE offers a five years Ph.D./M.Sc. (Engg) by Research Programme in both full time and part time mode. The program is offered in nine specialisations and the admission is offered for the respective program twice in a year, usually in a month of February and June every year.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.)

  • A M.Tech or M.Sc. degree in any relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from any recognized university or college is required.
  • For specializations like Management Studies and Chemistry any Master’s degree in relevant discipline can be accepted by NHCE.

Selection Process of Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.)

  • Selection to Ph.D. or M.Sc. (Engg) is made by the institute on the basis of performance of the applying candidate in Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and interview.

Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) Application Process

NHCE is a recognized Research Centre and an Affiliated College of VTU. Applications forms of PhD/MSc (Engg) By Research Programmes under Full time/Part time Research Programmes are accepted considering the registration to research programmes of VTU. Candidates may apply for registration through VTU Selection Process (Research Aptitude Test and a personal Interview) for pursuing PhD/MSc (Engg) in NHCE.

Candidates must mention the name of the proposed Research Supervisor available to Guide the PhD/MSc (Engg) at the Recognized Research Centre (NHCE) and also mention the research/area of interest etc. First visit the concerned Department and meet PhD Supervisors/Guides then submit your Application to VTU along with necessary details proposed by the Supervisor/Guide.
