Marian Engineering College was established in 2001 and is affiliated to the University of Kerala and the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). It is one of the leading universities in engineering and self-financing sector. The college is managed by Trivandrum Social Service Society under the Trivandrum Latin Catholic Archdiocese. The college is AICTE-approved and has been associated with IEI, IEEE-PES, IEEE, CSI, ISTE and IGS .

Marian Engineering College offers B. Tech and M. Tech courses in different streams including Civil Engineering, Geo-Technical Engineering (CE), Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Besides this, S3 students can also pursue a minor course in Introduction to GeoTechnical Engineering, Introduction to Power Engineering, Material Science & Technology, PYTHON for Machine Learning and Analog Communication. Students are shortlisted for admission as per the entrance examination conducted by the Entrance Examination Commissioner of the Government of Kerala or on the basis of merit. They also have to meet the preliminary eligibility criteria.

For smooth conduction of semester examinations, a war room had been constituted in February 2021 for the conduct of university examinations . It comprised the principal, HODs of various departments, an NSS Coordinator and government officials. The college also recently constituted a COVID-19 Cell. Tryasra Tech Solutions, a startup company that has been functioning under Technology Business Incubator of Marian Engineering College, recently developed a safety face shield for medical professionals and health workers working during the COVID-19 pandemic .

Marian Engineering College courses are NBA-approved. Admissions are offered under NRI quota, general quota and management quota. Admissions can be made online by depositing a fee of Rs. 500 and attaching valid documents like scanned photo, score card of entrance examination, signature, caste certificate if applicable and mark sheet of school examination .

Note: This annual fee in B. Tech courses is inclusive of the following-

  • Fee for Value Added Course- Rs. 6,500 (annual)

Each student has to deposit Rs. 1,700/- each semester as the examination fee to KTU. Students admitted CEE shall remit Rs. 10,000/- from their first year tuition fee to the bank specified by the CEE. The remaining amount including the fee specified above shall be paid by the student directly at the time of admission. For M.Tech courses, the fee structure is as follows-

Scholarships

Scholarships are provided to Latin Catholic students and those belonging to general category on the basis of the rank in KEAM or merit.

Those falling between ranks 1 and 4000 receive a complete scholarship on the tuition fee. Ranks 4001 to 15000 receive a scholarship of Rs. 37,500. Those acquiring a rank between 15001 and 20000 will get a scholarship of Rs. 25,000 and those ranked between 20001 and 30000 will get a scholarship of Rs. 10,000. Those who have passed their HSE state exam with an A+ grade or 90% above from CBSE and ISC in PCM shall be given a scholarship of Rs. 40,000.
