LV Prasad Eye Institute is an overall eye health facility. Its main campus is located in Hyderabad. LVPEI is a WHO-recognized Institute for the prevention of blindness and other eye-related issues. The institute offers training in human resources for all levels of ophthalmic personnel.

The institute provides courses like Diploma, PG Diploma, certification courses. The minimum Eligibility Criteria for these courses is graduation. It produces video admission on the merit list released by the Institute based on the qualifying exam.

LVPEI Hyderabad offers 1-year-long in 2 specializations. The diploma is offered in Eye Health Management and Community Eye Health. Candidates can apply online for the courses. The selection will be based on Merit in the qualifying exam.

LVPEI Hyderabad Training Programs Admission Criteria 2021

Low Vision and Rehabilitation: LVPEI conducts training programs for Low Vision and Rehabilitation for eye care professionals. The program is designed in collaboration with Lighthouse International, New York.

This program includes

  • LAP: Low Vision Awareness Program
  • Short-term Observership Program In Low Vision Care

Clinical Support Training: LVPEI conducts Clinical training for the candidates. It includes Ophthalmic Nursing Assistant Training Program, Operation Theatres Technicians Training Program, and Vision Technician Course.

Clinical Internship In Optometry: Under this internship, LVPEI trains candidates for 13 months, after 1 month of pre-clinical training, each trainee is rotated through comprehensive clinics for practical-based training.

Clinical Internship In Ophthalmology: Training under this department is one of the flagship programs of the LVPEI. It offers training in various subcategories.
