Lady Hardinge Medical College [LHMC] Admission 2021: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

LHMC has not yet started with the admissions for the various UG and PG medical courses. The college is affiliated to the University of Delhi which regulates the admission procedure of the college. The Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, is expected to start the admission procedure for various UG, PG and PG Diploma courses for the session 2021-22 in the month of June tentatively.

The selection to the courses is done on the basis of the relevant NEET examination. NEET PG 2021 has been postponed till further notice due to the steep rise in the COVID-19 cases. NBE is set to release the new NEET PG admit cards at the earliest. NEET PG 2021 Mock Test has been released on April 22 and the registered candidates can access the same on the official website of NBE.

  • The candidate needs to clear the NEET UG examination to get admission to the MBBS Program offered by LHMC.
  • The candidate needs to clear the NEET PG examination for admission to the PG courses at the college.
  • LHMC, New Delhi offers Super Speciality Courses including M.Ch. in Paediatrics and DM in Neonatology. The admissions to these courses are done on the basis of the score in the NEET-SS examination.

LHMC MBBS Admission 2021

The MBBS program at LHMC is a full-time regular course with a duration of four and a half years followed by one year of compulsory rotating Internship Training. The candidate needs to spend 2 months in the rural health centres for field work. The students shall also be eligible for a stipend during the period of Internship as per the guidelines of Government of India.

LHMC MBBS Eligibility 2021

  • For the candidates under the All-India Quota, the candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (Class 12th) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
  • For the candidates under Delhi Quota, the candidate must have passed Class 12th from any recognized school situated within Delhi only.
  • The Candidates from Patrachar Vidyalaya or National Institute of Open Schooling will be eligible for admission in MBBS/BDS courses under 85% Delhi Quota provided they have studied and given exam in Delhi only.
  • The candidate must be 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2020 in order to appear for NEET UG.

LHMC MBBS Selection Criteria 2021

  • The selection of the candidates for MBBS course will be based on the marks secured by the candidates in the NEET-UG examination.
  • The students need to attend the counselling procedure once they qualify the NEET UG examination. The counselling for both the quotas is different.
  • The final admissions shall be made on the basis of score in the NEET UG exam and the availability of seats in the college based on various reservation rules. The list of selected candidates will be published on the official website of the college.

LHMC offers the M.D., M.S. and MDS courses at PG level in various specializations. The duration of the courses is 3 years. LHMC has an intake capacity of 142 students for these PG courses. There are 50% seats reserved under the Delhi University Quota and the rest 50% is for All India Quota students.

LHMC M.D./M.S./MDS Eligibility 2021

  • To be eligible for the M.D./M.S. courses at LHMC the candidate must have passed the M.B.B.S. examination.
  • For admission to the MDS course, the candidate must have a BDS degree.
  • The candidate must have completed satisfactorily one year compulsory rotating internship in order to be eligible for admission to the courses.

LHMC Super Speciality Courses Admission 2021

LHMC offers two Super Speciality Courses which includes:

  • M.Ch. (Paediatric Surgery)
  • DM (Neonatology)

The duration of both the Super Speciality courses at LHMC is 3 years. The college has an intake capacity of 4 students each for these courses. The admission to these courses is based on the merit in the NEET-SS examination followed by the counselling procedure.

Ques. Are the admission to various courses at LHMC open for female students only?

Ans. LHMC is a premier all girls Medical College in New Delhi, however, it offers admissions to male candidates too at PG level. The admissions to the MBBS program at LHMC are open for women candidates only but the college offers admissions to the male aspirants also for M.D./M.S. and MDS courses.

Ques. What is the reservation criteria for the MBBS admissions at LHMC?

Ans. LHMC has reservations for various communities. For the MBBS program at LHMC, there are seats reserved for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC (27%) and Physically Handicapped candidates (3%). Ques. What if a candidate is currently employed and has got admission in a Super Speciality course at LHMC?
