Candidates participating in the CSAB Special Round Counselling 2020 can now download their seat allotment letter for NIT+ system colleges. The students can take admissions in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs through these special counselling rounds by CSAB.
The results for Round 1 were scheduled for November 20th but were delayed by a day. Candidates who are allocated a seat in Round 1 based on JEE Main 2020 can now choose from the following options-
- Seat Acceptance – Freeze/Float/Slide
- Surrender and Participate in Next Round
- Surrender seat and not participate further
- Not allotted a seat and not wish to participate further
How To Check Result of CSAB 2020 Special Round 1?
Candidates can check the Round 1 Seat Allotment Result using the following steps-
- Head to the official website of CSAB – csab.nic.in
- Click on “CSAB Special Round – Seat Allotment Result Round 1”
- A new page will open where you have to enter – JEE Main Application Number and Password
- Provisional Seat Allotment Letter will be displayed after logging in.
- Download the letter and save it for future use.
If a candidate chooses to accept the allotted seat, he/she also has to take part in Online reporting which comprises of the following steps –
- Seat acceptance and fee payment
- Upload of necessary documents
- Responding to queries by the candidates
Last date to respond to queries is 24th November 2020. After this, the provisional allotment will be deemed final, if all requisites are completed. Else the allotted seat will be forfeited by CSAB.
Important Dates For CSAB 2020 Special Round
The CSAB Special Round 2020 is conducted for NIT+ system colleges based on JEE Main Ranks of candidates. The seats available in these rounds are the vacant seats of JoSAA Counselling 2020. Further dates of CSAB 2020 special round are given below-

Due to COVID-19, reporting to the institute is not required to be done by visiting a college. The process has been converted to online only to ensure social distancing and less human contact amid the pandemic. However, candidates might be required to visit the colleges once they re-open completely.
JAC Delhi 2020 Counselling: Seat Allotment Result For Round 3 Declared, Download Seat Allotment Letter

Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi conducts counselling process for admissions to Delhi Government Funded Institutions. Students who qualified in JEE Main 2020, are eligible for B.Tech admissions in DTU, IIIT Delhi, NSUT and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University For Women (IGDTUW).
On 6th November 2020, seat allotment result for Round 3 was declared by JAC Delhi. The cut off ranks for all 4 participating institutes have been released and are given below-

As usual, JEE Main Cut Off ranks are first divided into Delhi Region and Outside Delhi due to reservation rules for students with Delhi domicile. Further, cut offs are bifurcated for various categories such as EWS, Open, SC, ST and OBC.
Steps To Check Round 3 Result
However, if a candidate wants to check his/her own allotment / upgradation status or download seat allotment letter, the steps are given below-
- Visit the official website of JAC Delhi 2020 – https://jacdelhi.nic.in/
- Click on ‘Registered Candidates Sign In’
- Enter your JEE Main Application Number and Password along with Security captcha.
- The result will be displayed on screen
- Use the print option to download the seat allotment status/letter and save it as a PDF.
Important Dates For Round 3
The last date to confirm or freeze the allocated seat is 11th November 2020 by 11:59 PM. A detailed schedule is provided below-

The candidates who do not wish to opt for any further upgrade can freeze their seat. This way they can confirm their chances for admission without any more delay.
During admission confirmation, online verification of documents will be conducted. Accordingly any deficiencies will be intimated which must be cleared by uploading fresh/correct documents or paying requisite academic fee or if urgent, by visiting the institute personally.

Considering the huge delay in JEE Main & JEE Advanced exams due to COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the final round for admissions counselling of IITs. The result for seat allotment round 6 has been released by JoSAA @ josaa.nic.in on 7th November 2020. However, in contrast to IITs, there will be two more rounds of counselling for NIT+ system colleges. These include NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs and GFTIs. The two special rounds of counselling will be conducted by CSAB 2020.
What To Do Next?
CSAB NEUT 2020 Counselling has already commenced from 23rd October and results for Round 1 will be announced soon @ csab.nic.in.
Opening and closing ranks for Round 6 will also be updated on the JoSAA portal very soon for all JoSAA Participating Institutes. Candidates who want to take admission will now have only these options-
- Freeze – To accept a seat and pay seat acceptance fees
- Withdraw – To decline a seat and exit from the counselling process.
Rules For Participating In CSAB Special Rounds for NIT+ Colleges
Candidates who want to take part in CSAB Special Rounds have two choices-
- Pay the partial fees, retain the seat allotted in JoSAA Counselling and participate in CSAB Special counselling.
- Do not pay any fees and directly participate in CSAB Special Counselling.
In the first case, the previously allotted seat will be kept allotted and students can participate in CSAB Counselling for chances of upgrading to a better course. However, if a candidate reports to the institute before CSAB Counselling, he/she will be ineligible for special rounds.
In the second case, students will lose the seat allotted to them in JoSAA Counselling Round 1 to Round 6. But they will be eligible for CSAB Special Rounds.

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has released the official schedule for CSAB Special Round Counselling. CSAB conducts the counselling for vacant seats of JoSAA Counselling for candidates of JEE Main. Only seats in NITs, IIEST, IIITs and GFTIs are available in these special rounds. Vacant seats will be displayed on 16th November, soon after which registrations will start from 17th November 2020.
Other than the special rounds counselling, CSAB has also released the schedule for CSAB NEUT Counselling for Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy courses in colleges of North-East and Union Territories. Last date for registration for CSAB NEUT is today i.e. 4th November 2020.

As given in the table above, candidates can exercise one of 4 options. Under the 1st option i.e. Seat Acceptance, candidates have 3 choices-
- Freeze – To confirm a seat and pay seat acceptance fees
- Float – To confirm a seat, pay seat acceptance but also get a better preference
- Slide – To confirm a seat in a college, pay seat acceptance but get a better course in the same college if available.
Accordingly, candidates who don’t find the options suitable, can withdraw / surrender from seat allotment in the first round only. If participating in the second round, candidates cannot withdraw as they would have already paid the seat acceptance fees.

After successfully conducting 4 rounds of counselling, JoSAA has declared the seat allotment result for Round 5 on 3rd November 2020 at 8 PM (delayed). Seat Allotment Results for Round 1 to Round 4 were declared in the past month. Opening and closing ranks were also released soon after the results, for all JoSAA Participating Institutions. As per the options chosen in previous counselling round, candidates will have the following options-

Many students who have aspired for studying engineering courses from IITs or NITs are finally achieving what they deserved. After completion of 3 Rounds of counselling, JoSAA will declare the seat allotment result for Round 4 on 30th October 2020. In case a candidate has been allocated a seat for the first time, he/she will have all three options available. JoSAA released an updated set of instructions for online verification and change in willingness towards an allotted seat / course. Candidates must also note that they can withdraw or exit from the seat allotment process of JoSAA 2020, if they wish to.
MNNITs and IIITs B.Tech Seats Full By Round 3
As per the official statement from MNNIT Allahabad Director said that seats in MNNIT and IIITs have been fully allotted. There were only 209 seats left vacant in GFTIs after Round 3 results. Candidates who accept an allocated seat have to pay the seat acceptance fees. Further, they must upload the documents as requested by the college authorities. They must also ensure that queries raised by verification officers are responded to at the earliest.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has declared the results for Round 2 of seat allotment today on 21st October 2020 for IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and GFTIs. The candidates who were not allotted a seat in the 1st round of JoSAA Counselling 2020 might have been allotted a seat depending on their preferences in the 2nd round. Also, candidates who have chosen the slide or float option might have also been upgraded to a better ranking seat or course.

Few of the top colleges and universities under Delhi State Government are offering B.Tech / B.E. courses on the basis of JEE Main 2020 Scores of the candidates. Soon, the authority will announce the Round 1 Seat Allotment Result on the candidate login portal of JAC Delhi 2020 i.e. https://jacdelhi.nic.in.

Depending on the All India Ranks (AIRs), many students will bag seats in top-tier IITs and many will grab seats in top NITs through JoSAA Counselling 2020. The Round 1 Seat Allotment Result of JoSAA Counselling will be announced on 17th October 2020. The counselling authority i.e. JoSAA will then also release the opening and closing ranks of Round 1 on the same day.
The last date to register for counselling in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, IIEST (via JEE Main) or IITs (via JEE Advanced) is today i.e. 15th October 2020. Candidates who registered at the JoSAA portal will not be allowed to revise their preferences after 5 PM today.
To register or login at the JoSAA portal, candidates only need their JEE Main or Advanced Application Number and Password. JoSAA previously released the 1st Mock Seat Allotment and 2nd Mock Seat Allotment result for candidates to get an idea of expected final allotment.

What are the Next Steps After Seat Allotment?
Once you are allocated a seat in one of the preferences provided during choice filling, you will get the following three options-
- Freeze – Use this option to confirm a seat and pay the seat acceptance fees.
- Float – This option allows a candidate to pay the seat acceptance fees but also opt for a better college or course in further rounds.
- Slide – Candidates can utilize this option if they only want a better course in the same institution allocated to them. Seat Acceptance fees can be paid here as well.
A Few Things To Note-
- This time, document verification and all the other processes related to admission will be conducted online only. Candidates who are using the freeze option must keep their documents ready (given below).
- Using the Freeze option will mean you will not be able to take part in further rounds of counselling i.e. Round 2 or further.
- Float and Slide options are provided to those who have not been allocated their first preference.

Seat Acceptance Fees at JoSAA Portal
This year, the seat acceptance fees has been kept as provided below-
- Open/OBC Category – INR 35,000
- SC/ST/PwD Category – INR 15,000
The fees can be paid via SBI Net Banking, SBI Debit Cards or e-challan issued by SBI only. Do note that this fee will be adjusted during payment of the 1st Semester fee of the college that the student is admitted in.
