Pune’s Chirag Falor scored a 100 percentile in JEE Main 2020 in his second attempt. His All India Rank in JEE Main is 12th. In addition to this, he has been able to get admission to one of the best colleges in the world i.e. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
According to Chirag, the entrance exam for IITs is the toughest. Even though he had secured admission to MIT, he took the JEE just to get an ‘experience’ of it.
‘IIT entrance is toughest of all’
He said, “I wanted to appear for JEE as I have been preparing for it since 4 year. Definitely, IIT entrance is the toughest exam. Assessment of students at international colleges such as MIT, is conducted on the basis of their personality and the amount of dedication they have poured into studies given the amount of resources. However, IITs have a completely different criteria. Even the application process for an MIT was very lengthy. I had to write essays, details on my personality, my background. But for IITs, it’s the preparation that is too lengthy.”
For the first attempt that was held in January 2020, Chirag Falor attained a score of 99.9897 percentile. He has not been able to get a US visa as the embassies are closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. For now, he attends online classes at MIT ending at 3 am. While sleeping during the day, he has been studying for JEE Advanced too, which is scheduled for 27th September.
Awardee of Bal Shakti Puraskar
Chirag Falor was also awarded Bal Shakti Puraskar by PM Narendra Modi in January. He was awarded for representing India at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Students aspiring for an architecture course in a top college of India can now join the college without the need of providing a minimum aggregate in 12th boards. The Ministry of Education has finally relaxed this eligibility criteria for B.Arch courses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Although, as per the rules, a passing certificate will still be required in order to get admissions.
As per the tweet by Education Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, selection in Bachelor of Architecture courses in colleges will be based on JEE Main Paper 2 or National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). Earlier, NATA required a minimum 50% marks in PCM or Mathematics in 10+2 boards. And JEE Main Paper 2 required a minimum score of 75% in 12th boards. Now, an aspiring student is only required to qualify an aptitude test in Architecture. This could be JEE Main Paper 2 or NATA.
