Many students might have misinterpreted the previous notice by NTA, which mentions “80% face coverage” in photographs. Due to a large number of students uploading irregular photographs, NTA has been forced to extend the deadline for JEE Main 2020 Form Correction till 20th July 2020. JEE Main 2020 was recently postponed for the second time until 1st to 6th September 2020.
As previously notified, candidates can use the Form Correction Facility for correcting form particulars, choices/preferences of exam centre cities, photograph and signature. But, recently, in the notice issued on 6th July 2020, NTA mentioned a phrase “80% face coverage”. The notice meant that 80% of the face should be visible in the image, with ears clearly visible and in a clear contrast to the background and other details. However, students might have interpreted this as a face covered with a mask up to 80% due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic (which does not spread from images).

Images To Be Uploaded As Per Annexure-A
Due to this confusion, NTA had to specify that ‘some students have uploaded photographs with a mask’, which is illegible and can result in losing their candidature. Students are advised to correct this mistake and upload clear images as specified in ‘Annexure-A’ (given below).
Specify NDA Participation
Due to the UPSC NDA Exam (I) to be conducted on 6th September 2020, it is possible that the dates might clash for a few candidates. To avoid this confusion, NTA has asked candidates who are appearing for NDA Exam to check ‘YES’ in their JEE Main Form Correction Facility. Accordingly, exam dates for JEE Main 2020 will be set before 6th September for these candidates.
NTA has specified that no correction requests will be accepted through fax/applications, emails or other means. Candidates will only be allowed to make changes to their JEE Main Application Form using this correction facility. For queries they can mail at [email protected].
