JEE Advanced Exam Centres: Complete Zone-wise List

Update: JEE Advanced 2020 has been postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). The new JEE Advanced 2020 exam date announced is 27th September, 2020. JEE Advanced Exam Centres have not been updated during the COVID-19 outbreak.


In 2020, IIT Delhi, under the guidance of JAB, will conduct JEE Advanced 2020. IIT-Delhi has released the list of JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Centres across the selected cities and towns in India and abroad as well. 

  • JEE Advanced 2020 will be a computer-based exam.
  • JEE Advanced Exam centres have been set up in 161 cities for the year 2020.
  • Students must select 6 exam centres from an IIT zone while filling the JEE Advanced Application Form.
  • Candidates who are taking the exam in 2020 session are not allowed to make any kind of changes in the exam centres. And their request for the same will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • Zonal coordinating IITs will look for the arrangements, through the Presiding Officer (PO) of the Examination Centre, to offer a panel of scribes.
  • The candidates are suggested to report to the allotted exam centre well in advance so that last-minute hassles can be avoided.
  • A few new exam centres have been added in the list while the overseas JEE Advanced 2020 exam centre count has been lowered from 6 to 4.
  • JEE Advanced 2020 Result Date is tentatively set for 1st week of September 2020.

Allotment of JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Centres

The candidates can select the JEE Advanced Exam Centres at the time of registration. Also, students must select 6 cities from a zone of their choice. Exam authority tries to allot the centres from among the candidate’s preferences only. But, a different exam centre in the same zone might be allotted under exceptional circumstances. Below-mentioned is the list of JEE Advanced 2020 exam centres that will help the candidates in knowing their nearest centre.

List of JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Centres

JEE Advanced 2020 exam centres are divided into 7 different zones. This includes IIT Bombay Zone, IIT Delhi Zone, IIT Guwahati Zone, IIT Kanpur Zone, IIT Kharagpur Zone, IIT Madras Zone and IIT Roorkee Zone. IIT Delhi has included 16 new cities in the list of exam centres for 2020. However, 4 from the previous list have been reduced.

There are 4 overseas exam centres for JEE Advanced 2020 this year as compared to 6 cities previously. The admit card issued to the candidates will have the name and address of the IIT-JEE exam centre allotted to them.

Reporting Guidelines at Exam Centres

  • Candidates must bring the JEE Advanced 2020 Admit Card at the time of verification at the exam centre.
  • Further, candidates are permitted to carry a ballpoint pen, pencil, eraser, and original photo identity card to the exam centres.
  • Also, candidates must report to the exam before 07:45 AM and get the biometric verification done.
  • The exam will begin at 09:00 AM in the forenoon session and 2:00 PM in the afternoon session. The candidates are NOT allowed to enter the exam centre after the commencement of the exam in both the sessions.
  • No candidate will be permitted to leave the exam centre before completing the examination.
  • Any kind of electronic gadget including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, health bands or any other thing like pencil box, pouch, calculator, pen drives, electronic pen, wallet, handbag, etc will be strictly banned inside the exam centres.
