Jamshedpur women’s college has been committed towards the development of women’s education since its establishment in 1953. The college is dedicated for the education of women in Jharkhand and all over India. The college is currently a constituent autonomous college of Kolhan University.

The college offers both UG and PG Courses in all the three streams Science, commerce and arts. The college is awarded “A” Grade by NAAC and granted with the status of Centre with Potential For Excellence (CPE) by University Grants Commission.

Jamshedpur Women’s College: Admission Procedure

To apply for admission to any courses in Jamshedpur Women’s College following steps are to be followed-

  • Step 1 Visit college website
  • Step 2 Students need to register themselves before applying online
  • Step 3 application form needs to be downloaded from college website
  • The application fee can be paid online or through Bank Challans at Bank of Baroda, Jamshedpur Women’s College Branch.

Admission Process for UG

  • Admission to all the UG courses are on the basis of Merit scored by the candidate.
  • Admission to UG courses is eligible for those students who have qualified their board examination with minimum 45% marks in the concerned subject.
  • For some subjects a candidate might have to sit for an entrance exam.
  • After the registration process is over no changes in subject will be entertained.
  • Transgenders can also apply for admission, A separate form will be available as per UGC regulations.

Admission Process for PG

Admission to all PG courses are on the basis of merit scored by the candidates.

  • All the PG courses are of 2years and PG Diploma Courses are of one year Duration.
  • PG diploma course is offered for a Duration of 1 Year and which is followed by a 6 months internship.
  • Seats are reserved for the M.Ed program for SC-10%, ST-26%, OBC- 14%. For Unreserved 50% seats and 3% seats for physically challenged.

Admission Process for Vocational Courses

Various job oriented vocational courses are provided by the college. It also teaches self-employment techniques to its students, these courses are sponsored by UGC; the Duration for all the courses are for 3 years.

Admission to vocational courses is on the basis of 10+2 marks and the interview selection list is prepared.

Admission Process for PhD and MPhil

Admission to Ph.D and M.Phil Courses are done on the basis of personal interview as conducted by the college. Candidates who have qualified and have minimum 55% aggregate marks in post graduate examination of MA political science, M.A History, M.A philosophy or MA Economic can apply for M.Phil.

Jamshedpur women’s college was first among many colleges to set up a placement cell in Jamshedpur. It was established in 2003 as a career counseling guide to the students. Slowly the cell started recruitment of the students to various big industries like INFOSYS, TCS, GENPACT, WIPRO etc.
