International Management Institute [IMI] Delhi Admission 2021: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Every year, the academic calendar for IMI Delhi admissions starts in July. At the postgraduate level, the Institute offers AICTE-approved programs such as PGDM, PGDM HRM, and PGDM B&FS. The admission to these courses is based on CAT/ GMAT scores and academic records. The institute also offers EPGDM, Fellowship Program in Management (FPM) and Executive FPM across disciplines.

Admissions to the IMI Delhi take place in three cycles. Shortlisted applicants are invited to participate in the final screening process, which includes an essay writing exercise, a psychometric exam, and a Personal Interview (PI). Based on the overall number of candidates for the respective program, the final selection is dependent on a higher cut-off%age.

Here are some fast details about the IMI Delhi admissions process for the year 2021:

  • Candidates for the ePGDM and eFPM must have at least five years of work experience.
  • The selection process is entirely based on a clear CAT/ GMAT ranking, followed by a Personal Interview (PI).
  • Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune are among the cities where the IMI Delhi selection process is held.

IMI Delhi has been ranked 28 by NIRF and 14 by Indiatoday in 2020 for its MBA program. IMI Delhi recorded more than 90% placement record in 2020-21. The highest salary offered was INR 29.7 LPA and the average salary stood at INR 12.7 LPA. Top recruiters include BYJU’s, Accenture, HDFC Life, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank. The selection cell also organized a Summer Internship that witnessed 86 recruiters offering the highest stipend of INR 2,00,000 and the average stipend of INR 72,000.

IMI Delhi PGDM & EPGDM Admission 2021 

The institute provides 2-year full-time PGDM, PGDM in Human Resource, Banking & Finance Services, and 15 months Executive PGDM programs. The total intake of the PGDM program is 220, PGDRM is 38 and PGDM Bank and Finance Services is 49.

IMI Delhi PGDM Eligibility

  • A bachelor’s or equivalent degree in any discipline, like Engineering, Humanities, Commerce, Economics, Medicine, or any other branch of education, from a recognized university in India or abroad (recognized by the UGC / Association of Indian Universities) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent.
  • Candidates who are funded by their respective organizations shall write a letter of that effect from the sponsoring agency, as well as a commitment to pay all expenses and dues as they become due during the scheme. At the Personal Interview time, this letter/undertaking would be expected to be sent.
  • Candidates in their final year of a bachelor’s degree or similar are still exempt, as long as they can demonstrate that they follow the minimum qualifying requirements by September 30, 2021. Candidates that do not meet this condition will most likely be disqualified from the curriculum.
  • A candidate may be a recent graduate with no job experience or a recent graduate with appropriate work experience from any field of study.

IMI Delhi PGDM Selection Criteria

  • Candidates who apply online for PGDM, PGDM (HRM), and/or PGDM (B&FS) admission will be shortlisted based on their CAT or GMAT ranking and academic record.
  • Just those applicants who have been shortlisted will be invited to the final stage of the screening process, the Individual Assessment Process (Essay Writing and Personal Interview, etc.). In February/March 2021(tentative), the Individual Assessment Process will take place.
  • The key components of the screening process are past college records, success in the individual evaluation process, and other contextual parameters such as consistency of work experience and extracurricular activities.

Interview Centers: The selection process will also take place in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune, in addition to Delhi. In the application form, candidates should suggest their first and second choice of interview location. If a candidate’s chosen centre is not available for any reason, the candidate will be notified.

IMI Delhi FPM & EFPM Admission 2021 

IMI in New Delhi offers full-time graduate programs of 4 years duration such as FPM and EFPM in a variety of disciplines.

Candidates will be called for a personal interview after their test grades, academic results, and job experience have been taken into account, after which entry will be decided. This program is open to students with a master’s degree with a 55% average or a bachelor’s degree with a 60% average and related job experience.

IMI Delhi FPM & EFPM Eligibility 

  • The candidate should have cleared any of the following tests.
    • Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs.
    • GMAT score is also considered valid for applying for the course.
    • Scores of CAT/GMAT taken on or after 01 January 2017 will be considered valid for admission to the session of 2021.
    • NET qualified (taken on or after 01 January 2017)
  • Master’s degree holder with a qualifying test score of 55%.
  • Engineering bachelor’s degree with 60% career experience
  • CA/ICWA/CS qualification with a total score of 55%.
  • At the time of entry, candidates with appropriate job experience would be given priority.

IMI New Delhi FPM & EFPM Selection Criteria 

  • The FPM registration form must be completed by the claimant. An abstract of 1000-1500 words about the proposed study area/topic must be submitted with the form. This may seem broad at this point, but it’s crucial for determining the applicant’s interest.
  • Candidates will be called for an interview for final selection based on the thesis abstract and the scores earned in the CAT/GMAT/NET or IMI internal exam, as well as an assessment of previous academic success and related work experience.

Before submitting an application, candidates applying for any of the courses offered by IMI New Delhi must take one of the two all-India standard admission tests for management programs – CAT/ GMAT. Candidates must have earned qualifying marks in the standard acceptance examination to be considered. The following is a detailed description of the application process:

  • The application fee may be paid with a credit/debit card, a net banking account, or a money transfer. Candidates also have the option of paying their fees by Demand Draft payable in New Delhi in lieu of the “International Management Institute.”

Ques. What is the withdrawal & refund policy for admission at IMI Delhi?

Ans. As per AICTE rules, if the candidate withdraws the application before the starting of the program, the waitlisted candidates would be given admission against the vacant seat. In such a case the entire fee collected from the student, after a deduction of the processing fee of INR 1000, shall be refunded to the candidate. However, if a student withdraws from the program after commencement of the course and if the seat remains vacant and is not filled by another candidate, for whatever reason, only the refundable component of the fee shall be returned to the candidate.
