IIT Indore Placements Report and Summer Internship Programs

IIT Indore placements have been very consistent and lucrative, as suggested by the records of the past years. The average of the packages offered was more INR 20 lacs per annum.

  • IIT Indore had approximately 160 recruiters participate in the placement process. IIT Indore placements saw the largest outgoing batch.
  • There were a total of 578 students from their five years Integrated Management Programme (IPM) and Post Graduate Programme (PGP). More number of students often indicate high competition and very competitive salaries.
  • The top recruiters who participated in the IIT Indore placements process were Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Bain Capability Centre, D E Shaw, GE, Goldman Sachs, Google, PwC India, Vodafone and many more such companies.
  • The average salary package offered to the B.Tech students was around INR 22 lacs per annum. Computer Science & Engineering recorded the most number of placements. Many roles were provided for the domains of Consulting, Sales & Marketing, and Finance.

AB InBev, Appdynamics, Cloudtail, FIITJEE, Flipkart, Intermiles, Kohler, Payoneer, and Thomson Reuters participated in the IIT Indore placements process for the first time. There were around 45 new recruiters for the 2020 batch.

IIT Indore Summer Internships

IIT Indore also conducts Summer Internship programmes. They usually offer internship programmes in the month of March and April. This year the internship programme was suspended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The following are the details of the same:

  • Faculty Advisor: You can check the list of Faculty Advisors by clicking here. The faculty advisors and their areas of Interest are mentioned with other details in the pdf. If you are planning to enrol yourself for the Internship programme, you can choose a faculty advisor that matches your interests and ambition.
  • Duration: The duration of the internship is a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months.
  • Eligibility: All graduate or undergraduate students can apply for this internship programme.
  • Fees: The fees for the programme are mentioned below:

  • Certificate: A certificate will be issued to all those interns who complete the internship successfully.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation is available at IIT Indore hostels. Accommodation and food charges are excluded. If you wish to stay at IIT Indore hostels, the costs will be followed as per actuals. As per actuals, the accommodation charges are Rs 3000/- per month and the food charges are Rs 200/- per month.
  • Application: Although this year, the programme had been suspended; it is expected that from 2021 the programme will be happening like each year under the consideration of various safety and hygiene factors (due to the pandemic).

Mostly the application is published in the month of March for students to start applying for the internship programme. The registration ends by April, and the students are selected on the first-come, first-serve basis. The applicant also pays a non-refundable registration fee of ₹ 5000.

  • Selection Process: The selection process is on the first-come, first-serve basis.

Many companies also approach IIT Indore for summer internships. The data for the same is not available on the official website. Many companies recruit based on the performance of summer internships.

IIT Indore Fee Structure for B.Tech Admissions 2020-21

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore undergraduate degree in B.Tech course and other higher studies options. The total fees according to IIT Indore fee structure for Bachelor of Technology course is around INR 9.50 lakhs.

  • In the first semester of the B.Tech course, candidates have to pay around INR 1,42,000 lakh rupees which includes Registration fees, Admission fees, Tuition fees, hostel fees, etc.
  • Those who opted for hostel accommodation, have to pay the hostel fees which is included in the total fees.
  • The hostel fees include Hostel Rent, Electricity and Water Charges, Facilities charges, Mess Security Deposit, etc.
  • IIT Indore fee structure is released by the institute on its official website www.iiti.ac.in.
  • The mode of payment of fees for IIT Indore is online.

At the time of admission, students have to pay the security deposit and admission fees. The admission fee is a one-time payment whereas the security deposit is a refundable fee. The fee structure will vary from category to category.

  1. Students whose annual family income is less than INR 1 L can avail full remission (i.e. INR1,00,000/-) of the tuition fee after admission if they produce relevant documents to support their claim.
  2. For students whose annual family income is between INR 1 L to 5 L can avail a waiver of 2/3rd of the tuition fee (i.e. INR 66,667/-) by producing relevant documents to support their claim.

IIT Indore offers many scholarships to meritorious and deserving candidates, economically backward categories, etc. The institute provides merit cum means scholarship for the needy and meritorious students, who aren’t able to bear the IIT Indore fee structure. These types of scholarships are provided to the students in form of the tuition fee waiver, financial aid, or exemption of hostel or mess fees from the total fees which helps the financially poor students in their studies. Some of the scholarships are mentioned in the following below points:

  • Merit cum Means Scholarship is provided to the students whose family annual income is less than INR 1,00,000 lakh.
  • Full remission of tuition fees whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh annually.
  • Two-third of the tuition fee waiver to the students whose family income is between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh per annum.
  • Central Sector scholarship for the students belonging to SC and ST students whose parental income is less than INR 4.50 lakh annually.

IIT Indore Cut Off: JEE Advanced Opening and Closing Rank

IIT Indore offers B.Tech degree in a total of 5 different departments. Admission to these programs is done on the basis of AIRs of JEE Advanced examination. IIT Indore Cut Off is released in the form of opening and closing ranks. It is further divided into categories and each category is further divided on the basis of gender.

  • IIT Indore admissions are carried out by Joint Admission Board (JAB) and seat allocations are made through JoSAA Counselling.
