IIT Goa Fee Structure For B.Tech Admission 2020-21

IIT Goa is one of the prestigious engineering institutes of the country which offers B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD in various core and non-core branches. IIT Goa Fee Structure is different for the students of the General category than the fee structure of reserved category candidates.
- IIT Goa Fee Structure includes various types of fees like one-time fee, per semester fee, one-time fee including Admission fee, Identity Card fee, etc. among others.
- For the academic year 2020-21, IIT Goa Fee Structure has been revised by the institute due to COVID-19 pandemic. Hostel charges, mess advance and other optional charges will be collected once the institute reopens.
- With the help of scholarship schemes and tuition fee waivers, IIT Goa reduces the financial burden on the students and their parents.

IIT Goa Fee Structure for International Students
IIT Goa Fee Structure is different for international students as compared to that of Indian Nationals. IIT Goa Fee Structure for foreign nationals is given below:

IIT Goa Fee Structure: Scholarships and Waivers
Some of the scholarships and tuition fee waivers offered to the students by IIT Goa are mentioned below:
Tuition Fee Waiver
- The college offers 100% tuition fee waiver for SC/ST/PH etc students;
- A full revocation of tuition fee for (General +OBC) if the student’s family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum and 2/3rd of the tuition fees if the annual income is between INR 1 lakh to 5 lakhs.
Scholarships
- Merit-Cum-Means scholarship- Can be availed by a maximum of 25% undergraduate B.tech students. To be eligible for the same the gross income of parents (Mother/father/both) for the previous financial year should not exceed INR 4.5 L. It is accessible to students from the General/OBC categories. The amount offered is INR 1000 per month including not having to pay the tuition fee.
- Free Messing- All students belonging to the SC/ST categories are absolved from paying the tuition fee along with free messing pertaining to the basic menu and a monthly allowance INR 250. The conditional exemption from the payment of the hostel rent/room is also added provided the gross income is not more than INR 4.5 L.
- Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for SC students- This can be availed by students from the SC category only. A total of 24 students (12 from Engineering and 12 from Management) shall be picked by the Ministry of Social Justice and Environment who shall be allowed to apply for the same. The perks include the remuneration of tuition fee, boarding charges, lodging, computer cost, books/stationery etc. provided the family income does not exceed beyond INR 4.5 L
- Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for ST students- Similar to the previous scheme, this is designated to the ST students wherein the Ministry shall choose 5 students each from engineering and management. Their costs shall be recompensed pertaining to boarding charges, lodging, tuition fee, computer cost, books/stationery only if their family income is less than or equal to INR 4.5 L.

How to pay IIT Goa Fees?
Students can pay IIT Goa Fee via NEFT/RTGS online payment system. The detailed steps to pay the fee online are given below:
Mode of Payment
The students are required to go through the following steps in order to pay the fees.
- Students are required to pay the fees of IIT Goa through payment gateway of the institute https://www.iitgoa.ac.in/academic.php?pg=payment.
- Click on the official portal of IIT Goa and select the B.Tech category under the Academics Tab.
- Click on the payment portal.
- Enter your roll number and click submit.
- Payment can be done through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking.
- Make the payment and take a print out of the receipt for future use.

IIT Goa Cut Off: JEE Advanced Opening and Closing Rank

IIT Goa offers admission to its B.Tech programs in 4 different disciplines based on the JEE Advanced cut off under JoSAA Counselling. Usually, IIT Goa cut off is relatively high compared to the other newly established IITs as the institute is raising the bar of excellence education day by day since its inception in 2016. IIT Goa cut off 2020 has been released in the form of opening and closing rank by JoSAA after the declaration of JEE Advanced 2020 Result.
- For admission to IIT Goa B.Tech course, applicants must qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced, securing a decent rank. Candidate’s achieved rank must be equal to or above the IIT Goa cut off published by JoSAA.
- All the students will be allotted seats in their respective programs through 6 rounds. IIT Goa cut off change in every counselling, for both the genders, as well as General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates.
- CSE is the most sought after engineering program among aspiring students.

In 2014, the Union Government decided to set up 6 new IITs. Indian Institute of Technology Goa was established as a young IIT in 2016. It is presently under the mentorship of IIT Bombay, which means the curriculum and teaching practices followed at IIT Bombay are also followed at IIT Goa.
- Currently, all educational and non-educational activities are carried out from the campus of Goa Engineering College (GEC) located at Farmagudi.
- It has been 4 years only since its inception and IIT Goa is already living up to the standards of top-tier IITs.
- Also, it is redefining higher education, culminating traditional and modern learning methodologies.
- IIT Goa offers courses in B.Tech, M.Tech and doctoral degrees. It is a participating institute for JoSAA Counselling and all B.Tech admissions are based on JEE Advanced Scores/All India Ranks of candidates.

Indian Institutes of Technology Goa have a comparatively tough admission process. Around 40 students each are admitted to B.Tech – Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering courses. Whereas, 45 students are admitted in Mechanical Engineering course. B. Tech in Mathematics and Computing has started with 25 student intake capacity every year.
B.Tech Courses Offered
At the time of its inception in 2016, IIT Goa had only three specialisation courses under B.Tech program. However, in the academic year of 2019-20, the institute introduced Mathematics and Computing in its B.Tech curriculum. Presently, the institute provides the following branches for B.Tech programs–

Each specialisation has two types of core courses – Departmental core and Institute core.

Eligibility Criteria for IIT Goa
IITs do not have any separate eligibility criteria. The rules are the same as JEE Advanced Eligibility. Given below are the main criteria for admission to IIT Goa-
- Candidates should have procured at least 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent, for General and OBC category and minimum 65% marks or its equivalent, for SC/ST category students in (10+2) level from a recognised board.
- However, this criteria has been scrapped for 2021.
- Candidates must qualify the cut off in JEE Advanced to appear for JoSAA Counselling.
- Without a proper JEE Advanced Score Card, candidates will be deemed ineligible.

IIT Goa: Academics Amid COVID-19
In the fight against COVID-19, the Indian Institute of Technology Goa began its online classes/E-classes for all the students including B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD students. Classroom education and lab sessions have been brought to hold until further notice.
- The college suspended classes much before the country-wide lockdown on 16th March 2020, which shows utmost care towards students.
- Various online assignments were provided to students from lab instructors.
- Classes were proposed to be conducted using Skype, Google Slides or Cisco Webex. Students were advised to stay in their hostels or at their homes.

The 2019-20 batch is the first batch to graduate from IIT Goa. So, the placement drive was to be conducted for the first time in 2020. However, IIT Goa has not released the statistics for IIT Goa placements 2020 yet. About 125 B.Tech graduates were supposed to be placed in 2020.

IIT Goa Scholarships
Students can avail scholarships from the Central and State governments. It is to be kept in mind, only one scheme can be opted for at a time. Various IIT Goa scholarships are given below-
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship –
- This scholarship is for B.Tech students. Under this scheme, students availing hostel facilities get 1000 INR/month for 10 months and are exempted from tuition fee payment.
- Non-hostellers are given Rs. 500 every month for 10 months and do not have to pay hostel rent and dining charges.
- Students should have acquired a minimum of 50% in the previous final examination.
- Annual family income should not exceed 6 lakh INR for all category students.
- Central Government Scholarship for SC students –
- SC students with marvellous academic performance are the recipients of this scholarship.
- Full tuition fee, non-refundable charges, living expenses, books and laptop or desktop will be covered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- Total annual family income should not exceed Rs. 6 lakh.
- Central Government Scholarship for ST students –
- Fully funded scholarships are available for ST students showing academic excellence.
- Total annual family income should be less than 6 lakh INR. Special allowances are given to ST scholars with physical disabilities.
- Full tuition fee, non-refundable charges, living expenses, books and laptop or desktop are covered under this scheme by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

- Leading banks like State Bank of India and Corporation Bank give student loans at nominal interest rates.
