IIT Bombay Cut Off: JEE Advanced Opening & Closing Ranks

Last updated on September 4th, 2020 at 12:02 pm

IIT Bombay Cut Off 2020 and merit list will be released online shortly after the exam is conducted. JEE Advanced 2020 is scheduled for 27 September 2020. The cut off is published annually by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA). There are a total of 7 rounds of JoSAA counselling conducted, after which it releases opening and closing ranks for all IITs.

  • Candidates who fall among the top 2,50,000 rankers in JEE Main 2020 across all categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
  • The IIT Bombay Cut Off will be released in the form of opening and closing ranks.
  • Due to female reservations at IITs, IIT Bombay Cut Off is also divided into gender and category.
  • The trend of IIT Bombay Cut Off over the last few years will help predict the Cut Off ranks for 2020.

IIT Bombay offers 8 B.Tech specializations, 5 integrated B.Tech + M.Tech courses, and 3 BS (Bachelor of Science) courses. Admissions to all of these courses are on the basis of the JEE Advanced examination and All India Ranks of candidates.

The CSE specialization is the most desired course in an Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). The IIT Bombay Cut Off has consistently been below 65 for this course, while the opening rank has always been AIR 1. That means the topper of JEE Advanced, opts for this course!

IIT Bombay Cut Off 2019 for B.Tech Specializations

IIT Bombay was the top-most Indian institute in the QS World Rankings, at #172. It ranked at #2 in the NIRF rankings, second only to IIT Madras. Since IITs do not offer separate home state quota, all candidates receive All India Ranks only.

IIT Bombay is considered to be one of the top engineering institutes of India, and thousands of candidates desire to get a seat here. Hence, IIT Bombay Cut Offs usually involve a cut-throat competition. In 2019, the highest closing rank was 63 for Computer Science and Engineering while the lowest closing rank was 3501 for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This sets the standard and expectation for the 2020 IIT Bombay Cut Off.
