Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilani (BITS Pilani), located in Pilani, Rajasthan is an All-India institute which provides several courses for both UG (undergraduate) and PG (postgraduate) students.

BITS Pilani Admissions For B.E.

Students who want to pursue this course are required to register under the admission section in the university website. WILP program is basically a course designed for students who are already into similar fields and want to explore more about the same.

• The course offered contains several labs and practical subjects to support the project building under guidance of professionals.
• Once the list of registrations is completely filled, the selected candidates receive a mail regarding the course and the fee.
• The students are required to fill up the details and submit the fee within specified time frame.
• Total number of seats offered by the institute is 1040 for B.E. The classes are generally scheduled on weekends.

Eligibility For B.E.

• Candidates should have passed Class 12th Examinations of 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as a compulsory subject and proficiency in English.
• Candidates should have obtained 75% marks in PCM (if he/she has Maths in BITSAT) or 75% in PCB (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT), with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects.

During the global pandemic of COVID-19, institutions were left clueless for the safe conduct of the session for students from various programmes.

BITS Pilani: Placements Report

Unlike other institutions, BITS Pilani conducts placement drives twice a year. This ensures a higher placement percentage, providing more options to students in different courses. Due to COVID-19, the placements are slightly affected. International packages are also reduced due to restrictions in travel and recession in private companies.

The median package of INR 8,33,000 per annum means that 50% of students were placed at a package lower than this and the rest 50% were placed at higher packages.

Scholarships Offered By BITS Pilani

BITS Pilani offers scholarship and concessions based upon the following criteria:

• Board Toppers: Top 3 students from different boards are provided the scholarships. Rank 1,2,3 in every board is given 100%, 75%, 50% concession in the tuition fee for the first semester.
• Merit in Qualifying Examination: Students who scored more than 90% in the qualifying examinations are exempted from 20% of the tuition fee in the first semester.
• Students who scored more than 80% in the qualifying examinations are exempted from 15% of the tuition fee in the first semester.
• Merit in BITSAT: The following table shows scholarship amount based upon the scores in BITSAT:

• Merit in Competitive Exams: Students who have scored high marks in exams like JEE Mains are also provided some relaxation in the tuition fee according to their scores.
• Sports Excellence: Students who have played any sport in International levels (and won any medal) are provided with a scholarship of 50% in the tuition fee for the first semester.
