JEE Main 2021 Begins With B.Arch and B.Planning Papers; Check Exam Analysis, Difficulty of Mathematics Section

The February session of JEE Main 2021 has commenced today i.e. 23rd February. As per the official data, 6.60 lakh candidates have registered for February 2021 session. About 6.5 lakh candidates will appear for B.Tech Paper (Paper 1). While, 63,065 candidates will appear for Paper 2A and 2B i.e. B.Arch and B.Planning papers respectively.JEE Main 2021

The Papers 2A and 2B were conducted on 23rd February 2021. Candidates were required to appear at exam centers while following proper COVID-19 guidelines. The JEE Main Admit Card 2021 also includes a declaration which students must sign and submit at the examination centre.

JEE Main B.Arch Paper Analysis – 23rd Feb 2021 (Shift 1)

Mixed reactions were taken from students who appeared for the Paper 2A and 2B. First reactions from the candidates say that the JEE Main B.Arch paper was easy to moderate. Given below is the JEE Main Paper Analysis for Shift 1-

  • Mathematics section was easy as reported by most candidates.
  • Aptitude section was moderate. Some students said it was more difficult than Mathematics.
  • Drawing section is subjective so usually questions are easier. However, the marking scheme for the drawing part varies depending on the performance of a candidate.
  • Experts have also reviewed the B.Arch paper of Shift 1. The JEE Main Cut Off 2021 might go higher as the number of students are less. Paper was a bit difficult according to the level of questions asked. However, students reported it was easier than previous years.

Soon, B.Planning paper will also be conducted. Exam Analysis for Paper 2B will also be updated here. The exam pattern for both papers is given below-

Do note that candidates get options in Numerical Value Type Questions. Total numerical questions in Mathematics would be 10 instead of 5. However, only 5 need to be attempted. NTA will be conducting the B.Tech/B.E. paper from 24th to 26th February and will soon be releasing the JEE Main Answer Keys. Within a few days, JEE Main Results 2021 will be available, tentatively around 1st week of March 2021.

The financial assistance from the School of Planning and Architecture Delhi includes two types of officially declared scholarships. A number of scholarships are provided to the relevant and eligible candidates under the sanction of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme which is disclosed by the Government of India.

JEE Main 2021 B.Planning Exam Pattern (Updated): Numericals, Sections, Marking Scheme

NTA has officially released JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 on it’s official website. B.Planning was introduced as a separate paper in 2020. Earlier, it was in combination with B.Arch. Apart from new updates, NTA has devised a structured JEE Main 2021 B.Planning Exam Pattern for the aspirants.

Latest Updates on JEE Main B.Planning 2021:

NTA has finally released the JEE Main Exam Dates for April and May sessions, which were postponed earlier. Session 3 (April) is scheduled from 20 to 25 July, while Session 4 (May) is scheduled from 27 July to 2 August 2021. Candidates can apply for both the sessions or either of them through JEE Main Application Form. There is no gap between the two sessions.

  • NTA has decided to provide choices in Numerical questions of Maths section because of reduction of syllabus by some boards.
  • Students will now get 10 Numerical Value Questions, out of which any 5 have to be solved.

There has been additional changes for the JEE Main 2021 exam owing to the reduction in Class XII syllabus by some boards. B.Planning Exam Pattern, by NTA for upcoming JEE Main 2021 exam provides details like total number of questions, marks distribution, marking scheme etc. The details below discuss important updates of JEE Main B.Planning Exam Pattern:

  • The total marks for the test will be 400 marks. The paper for selecting students for the B Plan courses will be conducted separately
  • The paper will have 105 questions for 400 marks.
  • Also, the aspirants can apply either for B.Arch or B.Plan paper or both of them together.
  • Candidates will be tested in three areas – Aptitude, Planning based MCQs and Mathematics.
  • A total of 105 questions is segregated in the following manner:
    • Aptitude – 50
    • Mathematics – 30
    • Planning – 25
  • In the Mathematics section, 20 questions will be MCQs while 10 questions will be numerical based questions. Candidates will be required to attempt 5 out of 10 numerical based questions.

JEE Main 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

JEE Main aspirants are advised to go through the detailed JEE Main 2021 exam day guidelines below to avoid any kind of issues on the day of exam:

  • Entry gates to the exam hall will be opened at least 2.5 hours before the starting of the exam

JEE Main B.Planning FAQs

Ques: What is the format for paper 3 in JEE Main 2021 exam?

Ans: From 2020 onwards, NTA has announced a separate paper for JEE Main exam. Paper 3 is of B.Planning and comprises aptitude, mathematics and planning based questions. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages. Candidates can choose the medium of language which is suitable for them. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

Ques: Are there any specific changes in the marking scheme for B.Plan?

Ans: There will be 3 sections in the paper namely mathematics, aptitude and planning based. There will be 50 aptitude based questions and 25 each for the mathematics and planning section. Numerical questions are added that carry no negative marking.

Ques: How will the merit list for paper 3 be devised?

Ans: The exam will be conducted in two shifts namely morning and evening. Overall NTA scores will be considered for preparing the merit list. In case of tie, merit will be based on score in mathematics, aptitude and planning based in the same order.

Ques: What is the basic eligibility to appear for the B.Plan exam?

ANs: To appear for paper 3 of B.Planning, a candidate needs to score a minimum of 50% marks in 12th board exam. However the minimum aggregate requirement has been deducted for this year exam. In 12th class, a JEE Main aspirant needs to appear for at least 5 subjects.

Ques: What is the minimum and maximum age limit for JEE Main?

Ans: To appear for JEE Main 2021, candidates must have passed 12th either in 2020 or 2019, not before that. Students appearing for Class XII in 2021 are also eligible. Also, NTA does not specify any upper age limit to attempt the exam.
