Chanchal College, set up in 1969, is popular for offering BA, B.Com, and B.Sc courses and is dedicated towards the goal of empowering the locals, especially Minorities, of Malda by education. The college accepts admissions based on Merit only and generally the cut-off percentage in 10+2 for admissions hovers around 60-65% (aggregate).

Recently, the college is working towards providing a bigger canteen at the premises of the institute as well as getting affiliated with the National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) of the Indian Army
