Mumbai University IDOL: Course Details

The University of Mumbai invites application for various Undergraduate programs in the specialization of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management. The post-graduate programs at the University of Mumbai are of 2 Years except for M.C.A. and PG diploma courses which are of 3 years and 1 Year respectively. The candidates are selected on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination except for M.C.A. programs which requires a valid score in the Entrance Examination. The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree to pursue these programs from the University of Mumbai.

Mumbai University, Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) is a distance education department of University of Mumbai. IDOL invites applications for the admission to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the streams of Humanities, Commerce, Science and Technology, Management, Inter-disciplinary etc.

Mumbai University, IDOL offers UG courses, IDOL offers admission to BA, BCom, BSc in Computer Science (CS), BSc in Information Technology (IT). In PG courses, IDOL offers admission to MA, MSc, MCom, MCA. IDOL also offers the post graduate Diploma courses, PGDFM and PGDORM, of two years duration.

The selection to all UG/PG courses (except MCA) depends on the marks obtained in the last qualifying exam. However, the university conducts an entrance exam for the MCA program, which the applicants need to qualify.

Mumbai University IDOL Scholarship

Mumbai University, IDOL provides scholarship/ freeship facilities to reserved category candidates from the year 2007-08, and 14-15 thousand students have benefitted from that. Reserved category students admission cost is just INR 120, which is increasing their enrolment every year.

These scholarship/ freeship schemes have also encouraged the poor/ needy students to apply for IT/ Comp. Science courses which are unaffordable otherwise.
