Union Christian College, Aluva, was founded in 1921 as an ecumenical, Indian Christian endeavour in Kerala’s sphere of higher education. The college, which is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam, is noted for its academic brilliance and research potential. There are 18 academic departments in the college, with approximately 1900+ students and 160 staff members. The NAAC has given the college an ‘A’ Grade in the fourth cycle, with 3.45 points.

It provides students with a diverse range of courses, including both Undergraduate and Postgraduate options. MBA, MCA, BCom, BSc, MSc, BA, MA, and PhD programmes are available in a variety of specialities. UCC Aluva Scholarships

Union Christian College offers a variety of scholarships to help students with their financial needs. These are the following:

  • Dr P.C. Alexander Scholarship- The annual interest on a donation of Rs. 600 by H.E. Dr P. C. Alexander, Governor of Maharashtra, shall be utilised to grant scholarships to deserving students.
  • P. G. Nair Memorial Fellowship – The interest earned on an INR 11,00,000 endowment will be utilised to award fellowships to outstanding Malayalam research academics.
  • Loan Scholarships – The goal of these scholarships is to assist needy College students who might otherwise be unable to complete their education. Under the proposal, the interest on the endowed capital will be available every year. When the student grantees start earning a regular income, they must repay the loan.
  • Liberty Loan Scholarship Allocation for the current year- INR 10,000.00
  • Trinity loan scholarship from Madapad, Alummootil Foundation Allocation for the current year- INR 5,300.00
  • Vidwan P.G.Nair Loan Scholarship- INR 10,600.00
  • Dr Alexander Zachariah Loan Scholarship- INR 1,400.00
  • Kulangara Scholarship – There will be one scholarship each for the second year BA and B.Sc., third-year BA and B.Sc., and second-year MA and M.Sc. classes under this plan, with a total of six scholarships at Rs. 2000/-. Selection of students for the scholarship will be made based on merit and need, in cooperation with the college staff council’s scholarship committee.
  • Kano Yamamoto Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to students who have been chosen by a committee based onhelping merit and other criteria. It is funded by the interest on a gift made to the UBCHEA by Prof. Kano Yamamoto of International Christian University, Tokyo.
  • Every year, a Boobilee Scholarship is given to a student based on merit and need.
  • Government Scholarships – The Kerala government offers a variety of scholarships to help students, including single child scholarships, low-income student scholarships, fee concessions for low-income families, post-matric scholarships, women’s child scholarships, and scholarships for children whose parents have died, among others. These scholarships are always a helpful hand to poor students, and as our institution is a government-aided one, they are all available to our students.
