  • West Bengal University of Health Sciences Admissions for 2021 is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
  • For few programs and merit based, admission is done directly by the University through Aptitude test & personal interview.

WBUHS MBBS Admission 2021

WBUHS MBBS program is a 4 and half plus one-year internship full-time course. The minimum eligibility for this course is 10+2. The admission for MBBS is through NEET entrance examination.

MBBS (Medical) Specialization General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology including Family welfare & allied specialties, Clinical postings/ subjects.

WBUHS B. Sc program is a 4 year’s full-time course. The minimum eligibility for this course is 10+2. M. Sc Nursing is 2 years full time course. The minimum eligibility for M. Sc Nursing is B. Sc Nursing.

  • The minimum eligibility for M. Sc Nursing is B. Sc Nursing.

The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) was established on 1st January, 2003 in Kolkata under ‘West Bengal Act. XIII’ of 2002′. WBUHS has 124 affiliated institutions.

WBUHS Admissions

In most of the Courses, admission is done through National level entrance examination (NEET, WBJEE). For some programs, admission is done directly by the University through Entrance test followed by Personal Interview.

  • Go thoroughly with the Information Booklet and other Annexure
  • Take print-copy of the application and Submit it with a Demand Draft from any nationalized bank of India, drawn in favor of “The West Bengal University of Health Sciences”, payable at Kolkata.
  • Candidates are also being notified to write their Name and telephone number on the back of the DD.
  • Submission of incorrect or false statements/ documents or information in the form may lead to cancellation of the candidature or the admission of the candidates to courses whenever detected.
  • Interview is based on the subjects of the basic bachelor degree of the candidates.
  • The qualified candidates in the Merit List will have to submit all the attested copies of supporting documents with originals for verification of their eligibility at the time of counseling.
  • The Merit list is published on the website of the college. No communication in this regard is made to the candidates personally.

WBUHS Scholarships

PhD Scholars are not provided any scholarship by the University. Under ‘Aikyashree’ scholarship, a brain child of the Chief Minister, the beneficiaries get anything between INR 17,000 to INR 33,000 per year.

The University also provides various scholarships in the following categories

  • Students from the SC/ST/OBC quota securing 75% in higher secondary Examination and getting good rank in entrance are eligible to get a scholarship.
  • Students securing 75% in Higher secondary Examination and getting good rank in entrance from the minority communities are eligible to get a scholarship
  • Students with economically weaker background are eligible for a scholarship by the University
  • Students whose parents are serving or have served in the Defense Services are eligible for a scholarship
  • Scholarship is also provided under the sports quota
  • The University sponsors a scholarship to Physically Challenged Students.

WBUHS Placements

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) conducts placement drive and also provides internship to final year students. Some of the top recruiters of WBUHS are – Rubi Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Government Hospitals, Apollo Hospital and BelleVue Hospital. Students in the last year are mandatorily required to do an internship at the hospital. Internship Opportunities give the students great experience. They are quite well-paid during Internship and that Motivates them to Work in the Medical Sector.

Students also have the option to do a one-year junior residency as well. This is not compulsory but many students choose to go forward with it. Firing the Internship period, the students are registered as medical officers and after that one can get a job at government hospital. The initial stipend is approximate INR 21,000 per month and after completion of internship it increases up to INR 35,000 per month.

WBUHS Facilities
