Central University of Jammu (CUJ) located at Rahya Suchani, Samba District, Bagla, Jammu and Kashmir, came into existence in the year 2011 established under Central Universities Act, 2009. Acknowledged by University Grants Commission (UGC), Central University of Jammu is affiliated by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The Central University of Jammu offers undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, and doctoral programs in various disciplines such as Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering & Technology, Law, Languages, and more.

CUJ is accredited Grade ‘B++’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Being a member of AIU or Association of Indian Universities, this University has established two centers, namely Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Science by ISRO and Kalam Centre for Science & Technology by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

  •  MPhil students not availing any financial help from any other sources are entitled to a Non-Net fellowship of Rs 5,000 per month and a contingency of Rs 10,000 per year for Science students, Rs 8,000 per year for Humanities and Social Science students.

Central University of Jammu: Facilities

The University provides various facilities to the students to give them a better environment.

  •  Canteen: The University features a spacious canteen. The canteen is neat and serves healthful food. Students can relax and have their meals within the good setting of the canteen.
  •  Hostel: The University provides Hostel Facilities to students coming from remote places. There is limited hostel accommodation offered in hired buildings that are reasonable and close to the campus. The rooms are quite good and come with basic furnishings. The hostels even have a well-running mess. There are four hostels with all the requirements like Wi-Fi, separate Common rooms, 24hrs Power Backup, Medical facilities, etc.
  • Library: The University library features a collection of 24000 books and 50 journals. The library also has 5118 E-Journals and several other full-text databases. Also, there’s a computer lab with Wi-Fi connectivity for research students and students.
  • Health Care: A well-maintained and fully-equipped Health Centres established for the students, faculty, and staff. Two doctors are available 24*7 on the main campus and TAB for any kind of emergency. Also, there are 24 hours Ambulance service, an ECG facility at the Main Campus, and Observation rooms for patients.
  • Other facilities: Labs, Sports Complex, Gym, Convenience Stores, Transport, Bank, and ATM
