The Kurukshetra University was established by late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India in 1956.  KUK campus is spread across an area of 475 acres and the institute offers 175 courses in the campus under 47 departments.

This deemed university is approved by UGC and also has a membership of a huge university network called the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

The university campus also provides a lot of facilities including lecture theatres, smart classrooms, 24 hr Wi-Fi campus, 24 hrs library facility, laboratories, on-campus hostel accommodation, cafeterias, canteens, market, swimming pool, gymnasia, bank, ATM’s, post office and world-class sports facilities etc.

Admission to KUK are done either on the basis of the candidate’s performance in entrance exams like JEE Main/ GATE/ CAT etc. or through performance in the last qualifying exam.

KUK Admissions

Admission to Kurukshetra University will be based either on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or through the entrance examination like HSTES.

For Admission to BTech course, JEE Main is considered whereas for admission to the MBA course, CAT is mandatory.

Students need to have a valid GATE score for admission to MTech courses.

  • Click on New Applicant Log In
  • Select the choice of course/courses
  • Upload the required documents
  • Pay the requisite amount of application fee online using Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking etc.
  • Click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.
  • On clicking the print preview will appear on the screen. Download and take a print out of the same and keep it safe for future references.

Documents Required

The following documents are required to seek admission to KUK:

  • Class 10 Certificate and Mark Sheet.
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet.
  • Bachelor’s degree (if applicable)
  • PG degree (if applicable)
  • Category Certificate (if belong to reserved category)
  • Two passport size photographs of the student.
  • Transfer certificate for students staying outside Delhi.

KUK Placements

The Placement Cell of KUK gives vocation direction and encourages the corporate association to the college understudies and especially for understudies selected in the expert courses. The Cell facilitates and sorts out ground’s interviews/arrangement drives/summer temporary positions and so on.

Some of the top recruiters are IBM, Infosys, Wipro, Adani, EIL, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Indian Oil, Hindustan Zinc, Times of India, Thomson Press, Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, Newgen, NIIT, HCL, Tirupati Life Sciences, Parabolic Drugs etc.

KUK’s Placement Cell also organizes personality development, soft skills development, entrepreneurship development programmers and various other activities concerning the career and personal development of the students.

For UG Courses: Around 60% of students were placed at an average package of INR 3,00,000 per annum

For PG Courses: Around 25% students were placed at an average package of INR 3,50,000 per annum

KUK Scholarship

This deemed university offers various kinds of scholarships to deserving students. The scholarships are offered based on some criteria like minimum percentage which the students have to fulfil in order to get the required scholarship.

The following scholarships are available for various students:

  • Dr. Radha Krishnan Fund is there to provide financial help to those research scholars who require financial assistance to move ahead with their research work.
  • Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship to Ph.D. students
  • The institute has introduced the Dr. Radha Krishnan Fund to provide financial help to those research scholars who need financial assistance to continue research work.
  • Smt. Kiran Yadav Scholarship is also awarded to students pursuing BEd Special Education. An amount of INR 1,000 per month is awarded under this scholarship.

KUK Facilities

The Kurukshetra University offers a large number of facilities to students. Some of the top facilities offered by KUK are as follows:

  • Hostel – The University currently has 25 Hostels (11 for Boys, 1 for Foreign male students and 13 for Girls) on the sprawling 475-acre campus of the University.
  • Library – The university library has well maintained a rich collection of 3,93,970 Books, along with 15,328 Manuscripts and 221 Journals (Indian and Foreign) covering all the subjects of different disciplines. The JLN Library comprises various sections such as Registration, Periodical, Internet Services Centre, Technical, Reference and provides open access to its books and periodical’s collection.
  • Sports Complex – There is a Sports Complex in the University which organizes All India Inter University Tournaments and International Tournaments including Boxing, Wrestling, Cycling, Water polo, Korfball, Netball, Roller Skating, Weight Lifting etc.

KUK Faculty

KUK has a faculty of around 500 in the 47 departments at various positions including Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor etc. Also, many students during their masters also work for the post of teaching assistant in their respective department of study.
