National Institute of Technology [NIT] Delhi Admission 2021: Course, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

NIT Delhi is calling for applicants for the academic year 2021-22. Students can check their application status by using their registered e-mail id and phone number to log onto the NIT Delhi website. The candidates who are eligible and have a valid entrance exam score can apply for the respective course to the college. The final selection of candidates is done based on an interview round held by JoSAA. NIT Delhi considers JEE Mains scores for admission in B. Tech courses, while GATE scores are considered for admission in M. Tech courses.

The key points for admission to the B. Tech and M.Tech course at NIT Delhi are as follows:

  • The cut-off for JEE Mains is between 70-75th percentile (60-70th for SC/ST).
  • The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) of India is responsible for conducting interviews and selecting the final list of candidates.

NIT Delhi B. Tech Eligibility 2021

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 from any recognized state or central board to be eligible.
  • The candidate should have aggregate 75% marks in Science Stream. For SC/ST category the candidate must have aggregate 65% marks to be eligible.

NIT Delhi B. Tech Selection Criteria 2021

  • For selection in the B. Tech course, candidates must have passed JEE Mains with a cut-off percentile of 90 percent for the general category and 60-70th for SC/ST.
  • Shortlisted candidates based on their performance in JEE Mains are expected to appear for a counselling session with Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

How to Apply for B.Tech?

Documents Required

Candidates are expected to submit self-attested copies of the following documents with their application:

  • 2-5 Passport size photographs
  • 10th Standard Marksheet and certificate
  • 10+2 marksheet and certificate
  • Photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving license, voter ID, etc)
  • Residence Proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving license, voter ID, etc)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Migration or transfer certificate.
  • JEE score card
  • Persons with Disability certificate (if applicable)

Application Process

  • Candidates can register for JEE Mains by visiting the NTA website.
  • Create a new login using an e-mail id and phone number.
  • Enter personal information including full name, date of birth, permanent and current address, parent’s occupation, phone numbers, etc.
  • Candidates are also expected to add their education qualifications for 10+2.
  • Scan and upload true copies of documents. This includes photographs, education certificates, address and residence proof, proof of date of birth.
  • Pay the application fees for the examination and select your preferred city for examination.
  • Download your admit card and appear for the examination.
  • Once NTA announces results for JEE Mains, visit the JoSAA website.
  • Appear for the counselling session and select your preferred choice of college.

  • Candidates must have passed B. E/ B. Tech/B. Sc (Engineering) or any equivalent degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university/institute.
  • The candidate must have a first-class or 60% aggregate or CGPA of 6.5/10 or equivalent to be eligible.
  • The candidates must have a valid GATE score to be eligible.

NIT Delhi M. Tech Selection Criteria 2021

  • The selection of candidates is done on the basis of their GATE score.
  • NIT Delhi also conducts a CCMT counselling session before announcing the shortlisted candidates.

PhD in Engineering/Technology:

  • Create a new login ID using your email and phone number.
  • Add your information including full name, date of birth, address, parent’s occupation, etc.
  • Candidates are also expected to enter education qualifications for 10th, 10+2, Bachelors, Masters and any fellowship examination scores.
  • Scan and upload documents including photographs, education certificates, address and residence proof, proof of date of birth, etc.
  • Verify your details and deposit the registration fee to the accounts section or complete online payment through wallets/net banking.
  • NIT, New Delhi will announce dates for their entrance examination on their website.
