University of Hyderabad: Admissions

  • The university conducts an Entrance Exam followed by an interview. It also accepts national-level entrance exams such as JEE Mains and CAT for some of its courses.
  • The UoH conducts an entrance exam for all the courses during May/June every year.
  • The application for the entrance exam has to be filled online. The eligible candidates seeking admission in more than one course need to fill an application for each course.
  • The entrance test and the eligibility criteria differ with different courses.

University of Hyderabad: Scholarships

There a few different kinds of scholarships an XLRI convert can apply for:

  • Aditya Birla Scholarship: This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship and it is given to students on the basis of criteria decided by the company. The amount of the scholarship is INR 175,000.
  • T Thomas: This scholarship is given on the basis of criteria decided by the company. It is given for an amount of INR 100,000.
  • The University offers Scholarships for economically weak students. The application forms are made available in the respective department offices after the notification which is made around the month of September to October.
  • The eligibility depends on family income, graduation marks, place of permanent residence, and other parameters.

University of Hyderabad: Facilities

  • Hostel: There are a total of 21 hostels on the University campus, of which 13 hostels are for men and 8 are for women. Accommodation to be done at the Tagore International House for Foreign students. The University also provides reservations of the total number of seats in the hostels of 22.5% are reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ST and 3% for physically challenged students.
  • Library: The University Library has a rich collection of 4.53 lakh books, e-journals, e-books, reference books, serials, theses & dissertations, back volumes of journals, maps, etc. The Library has a separate book bank for the SC/ST category of students and 2500 braille books for visually challenged students. Apart from this, the Library has received 642 books as a gift from various sources worth approximately Rs.3.4 lakhs. The Library had renewed subscriptions to 230 plus journals and 48 plus databases covering more than 40,000 e-journals. The Library is also a member of the Universal digital project of Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburg, USA.
  • Sports Facilities provided: Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Tennis Court, Table Tennis, Volleyball court, Ball badminton court.
  • Labs Facilities provided: Chemistry lab, Computer lab, Physics lab, Central Instruments lab, AV lab, Devices & Process Simulation lab, RFIC Measurement lab, Semiconductor Characterization lab, Thin Film Device lab, VLSI Digital Design lab, ICNFT lab, Statistics lab.
