Founded in 1916 by Lady Hardinge of Penhurst, The Lady Hardinge Medical College became part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, India in 1950. Unique in itself this college provides medical education exclusively to undergrad women only. It started with enrolling 15 students from all over India and expanded to 200 students in 2011.

LMHC offer courses like MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MDS, PGD, etc.

LMHC offers 17 specialisations in MS 4 in PG and 8 in Diploma. India Today in 2019 ranked LHMC 9th best Medical College in India. LHMC accepts applications of students who have scored at least 50% in 10+2 and cleared NEET. The eligibility criteria vary as per the courses chosen, but this one is fixed for MMBS students. MBBS requires NEET UG; MD, MS requires NEET PG; MDS requires NEET MDS; to be cleared by applicants. The Institute provides Internships to almost all students with a stipend which varies as per the courses starting with 17000 rupees.

From August 2012 to Dec 2016, there were two scholarships available @1500 per month.

Infrastructure: The LHMC has an impressive infrastructure, complemented with well-furnished and modern classrooms and spacious hostels.

Library: The LHMC library is one of India’s oldest Medical libraries, holding over 60 thousand books. It consists of some exclusive and incredible science journals made over the years.
