The Supreme Court of India heard the PILs filed for and against the postponement of JEE Main 2020 and NEET (UG) 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The plea was heard by the bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra of the Supreme Court, who announced the final verdict. As per the decision, the plea seeking postponement of JEE Main 2020 and NEET (UG) 2020 was rejected by the Supreme Court. Both the exams will now be conducted as per the schedule in September 2020.

12:07 PM: The SC Judges Bench dismissed the petition to postpone JEE Main & NEET exams. According to the final order of the Supreme Court bench, the exams cannot be delayed any further as “Career of students will be put under peril”.
12:06 PM: Advocate Alok says the Prime Minister mentioned in his 15th Aug speech that a vaccine for COVID-19 is coming soon. Not seeking to postpone the exams indefinitely but only until some time.
12:05 PM: On behalf of NTA, Solicitor General, Mr Tushar Mehta, assured that exams will be conducted with adequate measures/precautions to curb the spread of coronavirus.
