Sivanath Sastri College is a women’s college that offers various undergraduate programs such as B.A, B.Sc and B.Com. The admissions to these courses follow the norms set by the University of Calcutta. Admissions are usually conducted based on merit in the qualifying examination. Though the college conducts admission tests if necessary.

The college offers B.Com (Hons) in Accounting and Finance. Candidates belonging to the general category must have an aggregate of 50% marks and 45% marks in accountancy. In case of students from science stream, they must secure 55% aggregate marks and 55% in Mathematics/Stats. Those belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories need 40% aggregate marks or 40% in related subjects to be eligible. For students who are physically challenged or have shown outstanding performance in sports, the eligibility criteria is to secure 50% aggregate marks and 45% in related subjects.

The economics department of Sivanath Sastri College offers both general and honours courses. For applying to the general course, candidates must have an aggregate of 60% marks and 60% in mathematics/business mathematics/economics (40% for SC/ST/OBC). Candidates who have shown magnificent performance in spots or are physically challenged need 50% aggregate marks and 45% in mathematics/business mathematics/economics. In case of honours course, the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with mathematics/business mathematics/business economics conducted by the West Bengal Council of H.S. Education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate needs to pass 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • For admission to honours program, the candidate needs 50% aggregate marks and 45% in related subjects.
  • Those applying for the undergraduate course in Bengali, Political Science and History must have 50% aggregate marks and 55% in the subject for previous qualifying exam
  • Admission to honours in education and geography courses requires the candidate have 55% aggregate marks and 60% in the subject.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected on merit basis in regards to the previous qualifying examination.

  • After selecting all the necessary details in the Admission Bracket, Guidelines for Selection and Eligibility Criteria for the selected Stream/Course will be shown.
  • If you fulfill the eligibility criteria select ‘Yes’
  • The Click To Apply button which will direct you to the Applicant Details page of the Application Form.
  • Next, fill the application form with all the correct information.

  • Now select“Please click here to generate Challan Receipt” and take a print out of the same and submit to the bank given in the official website.

Note: Students opting for education are not eligible to choose Women’s studies as a subject.
