Dr Pokhiryal has assured parents and students that the exams will be conducted with complete safety and precautions at JEE Main exam centres.
The entrance exams are scheduled for September 2020. JEE Main 2020 is now just 3 days away from 1st to 6th September. While NEET 2020 is scheduled for 13th September.
From students, parents, CMs, activists, actors to all the various PILs against conducting JEE Main 2020, NTA and Education Ministry has confirmed that exams will be held as per schedule, without any more delay. He said that the government has the responsibility to ensure this year not a ‘Zero Academic Year’ for students.
Since the release of JEE Main Admit Cards, almost 85% students have downloaded the same.
- 7.5 lakh students out of 8.58 lakh applicants have downloaded the JEE Main 2020 Admit Cards.
- For NEET, 4 lakh students downloaded admit cards 3 hours after release.
Dr Pokhriyal stated that many students and parents have asked the government to not postpone JEE Main 2020. A large number of emails and social media messages are being sent by the students. “The National Testing Agency is fully prepared to conduct JEE and NEET exams following all the 72 points of the SOPs”, he said.
The assurances from various government authorities have not sufficed students to trust for safety during COVID-19. The cases are rising every day. During July, the cases were reaching 30,000 daily but are now soaring through 75,000 daily.
