Scottish Church College (SCC), Kolkata, West Bengal is affiliated with the University of Calcutta and accepts admissions as per the Calcutta University norms. It is the oldest college run by Christian missionaries. SCC offers various UG (Hons), PG and B.Ed. courses.

Admission to UG, PG, B.Ed. are open now. Interested candidates can apply through official website.

For admission to UG courses, candidates need to have a minimum of 50 % of marks in the qualifying exam from a recognized board / equivalent along with a minimum of 50% of marks in the particular subject. Selection process is based on the merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam.

Admission to the PG programme is active now. SCC offers M.Sc. in Botany and M.Sc. in Chemistry. Candidates having Bachelor Hons. degree with a minimum of 50% in total and 50% of marks in a particular subject can apply. Admission is carried out on the basis of academic merit of the candidate.

SCC invites applications for B.Ed. course. Only female candidates can apply. Candidates having a degree or PG are eligible. Admission is carried out on the basis of academic merit of the candidate.

SCC Kolkata BBA Admission 2021

Scottish Church College offers a three-year full-time BBA programme. A total of 45 seats are available for the BBA course.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to BBA course should pass 10 + 2 with a minimum of 60% of marks (excluding Environmental Studies & Environmental Education) in any stream from a board / equivalent recognized by University of Calcutta and must have passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

Selection is based on the merit obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam. Index mark is calculated and on the basis of index got admission is carried out.

SCC Kolkata B.Com. Admission 2021

Scottish Church College has a three-year B.Com. course. A total of 50 seats are available.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To apply for B.Com, Candidates need a minimum of 55% of marks in the qualifying exam along with 55% of marks in Accountancy & 40%of marks in Maths / Economics.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on the merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam. Index mark is calculated and on the basis of index got admission is carried out.

SCC Kolkata B.Ed. Admission 2021

SCC offers B.Ed. programme of duration of Two Academic Years and is divided into

four semesters. A total of 50 seats are available. Only female candidates are considered for admission to B.Ed. course.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their academic merit. Special weightage given to those holding Ph.D., M.Phil., PG, UG, Higher Secondary or its equivalent, Madhyamik Pariksha or its Equivalent.

How to apply at SCC?

Documents Required:

  • Self-attested copy of +2 Mark Sheet of the Qualifying Examination (within 100kb to 150kb each)
  • Self-attested copy of Age Proof Document (Birth Certificate) (within 100 kb to 1 50 kb each)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • PWD Certificate (if applicable)
  • BPL Certificate (if applicable)
  • CU Registration Certificate (if applicable), (Applicants must note that if applicable, they must provide this information as under no circumstances can a student be registered twice in the same University even from two different colleges or in two different sessions).
  • Photograph & Signature (within 20kb to 50kb each).
    Christian candidates required to upload scanned copies self-attested (with date) photocopies of Baptism or Dedication Certificate along with Letter from Parish Priest or Proof of Church Membership Certificate (all within 50kb to 100kb each).

  • Start registration by filing required areas. In the course field select BBA.
  • Application fee of Rs. 300/- per subject/ form is required to be paid by the candidate through the payment options available at the official website.

Ques. How much percentage of attendance is needed to attend exams at SCC?

Ans: Students need a minimum of 75% of marks in order to appear in the semester exam at SCC. If it is less than 75%, students need to pay a prescribed condonation fee.

Ques. Is there a reservation criteria for students at SCC?

Ans: Reservation is there for SC, ST and Christian students. Students need to issue relevant certificates at the time of filling of application online to avail reservation. If a student who is in ST category and he is a Christian, no double reservation is given at the time of admission by college. In this case the student needs to select between the ST/CHRISTIAN reservation.

Ques. Is there a hostel facility for students at SCC?

Ans: Yes, there is a hostel for students at SCC. The college is having five hostels namely The Lady Jane Dundas Hostel (for Girl), The Duff Hostel, The Wann Hostel, The Ogilvie Hostel and Students ‘Residence Hostel (for Girls) of which the Lady Jane Dundas Hostel and the Duff Hostel were primarily for Christian students.

Ans: No, there isn’t. Scottish Christian College does not have any 3-year General course. It has only 3-yearHons courses. If a student failed to pass Hons. in any of the Calcutta University examinations during his/her course period, he/she is not allowed to carry on his/her studies in the College as a General course candidate.
