The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee has notified that a special OJEE will be conducted for admission to B.Tech Programs. The OJEE for B.Tech. will be held as an integral part of OJEE 2020 instead of a separate exam.
According to the notice released on the official website, since it is not favourable to conduct the ‘2nd/Special OJEE in this session due to the ongoing pandemic, it has been decided to conduct the exam as an integral part of OJEE 2020, a Special Entrance Examination for admission into 1st year B.Tech. courses of all Government and Private Engineering colleges of Odisha. The purpose of this exam is to fill vacant seats left out after 1st phase OJEE counselling only for those students who were unable to appear in the JEE Main 2020 examination due to any reason.
There are a few note-taking points to be taken carefully. Students who have already appeared or are going to appear for JEE Main 2020 for B.Tech. admissions need not appear for the special OJEE 2020. The entrance examination for the B.Tech. will be computer-based (CBT). The online application for the special OJEE exam has already begun on May 12 and will close on May 31, 2020. The deadline to pay the application fee is June 5. Students will be notified about the schedule of the examination and admit card download in the coming days, depending on the ongoing situation of the country.
Students who qualify in a special OJEE exam will undergo a counselling session. This session will be held for vacant seats left after 1st phase counselling. Phase one of the counselling will be done based on JEE Main merit list.
