A few months after the COVID-19 halted the second session of JEE Main 2020, NTA launched their newly developed android application ‘National Test Abhyas’ for free online mock tests of JEE Main 2020 and NEET (UG) 2020. In a new record, the National Test Abhyas has reached a new high of 30 lakh sessions taken by JEE Main and NEET aspirants, in just 55 days.
NTA’s application was launched since there was no more possibility of running NTA’s Test Practice Centres (TPCs) for JEE Main aspirants amid the country-wide lockdown, imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has also asked schools and colleges to opt new ideas for assessment such as this, in case the lockdown on schools and colleges is extended in future. He appreciated this milestone in a tweet.
Happy to share that @DG_NTA‘s mobile application launched during #Covid19 lockdown for JEE (Main) and NEET aspirants called ‘National Test Abhyas’ has touched a milestone of delivering 30 lakh free online practice sessions in just 55 days.

Better Performance by App against TPCs
As per a detailed report, 7.67 lakh JEE aspirants have taken the JEE Main Mock Tests on the National Test Abhyas App. 33.9 lakh hours have been spent by test takers on the NTA’s application with an average of 7 JEE Main tests taken by each candidate.
Compared to the NTAs Test Practice Centres, the performance of National Test Abhyas has been outstanding within less than 10% of the time period. Only 5.4 lakh study hours were spent by students in 558 days at test practice centres set up by NTA since September 2018. This could be due to the registration process and other requirements which are not necessarily required for National Test Abhyas.
NTA is also looking for the opportunity to introduce other online mock tests on this application as the demand is rising. Meanwhile, MHRD is also looking for allowing the schools to utilise this platform as a replacement for classroom learning.
Currently, NTA JEE Main 2020 has been postponed by over 5 months and is scheduled to be conducted from 1st to 6th September 2020. Keep checking our website JEEMains.in for the latest updates on JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2020!
