Admissions for B.Tech programs offered at NIT Andhra Pradesh are granted according to the applicant’s overall performance in the JEE Main exam. JoSAA Counselling will also be conducted to shortlist the candidates. Total intake for B.Tech courses is 480.

  • The candidates who want to do the B.Tech course at NIT Andhra Pradesh must take JEE Main exam. They need to get a minimum of 75% marks at 10+2 level. For SC/ST students, the minimum aggregate is 65%.

Academics at NIT-AP During COVID-19

In a major incentive for the students whose studies are affected amid the lockdown and coronavirus pandemic, NIT Andhra Pradesh has decided to promote students to the next level by checking their performance through NIT examinations.

  • The exams of 25 marks were conducted online during the lockdown.
  • According to NIT Director CSP Rao, the online exams were conducted with a new test formula using modern technology so there are no chances of cheating in the examinations.
  • The students who were not able to attend the online examinations will be given an opportunity to write the examination for 50 marks, once the institute reopens post the lockdown.

NIT Andhra Pradesh Reservations

National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh follows the reservation criteria mentioned by the government of India. Joint Seat Allocation Authority publishes the seat matrix for the several institutions for the academic year at its official website. The seat reservation criteria are as per JoSAA Rules and Government of India laws. 50% of the total seats are booked for the candidates from the state of Andhra Pradesh while the remaining seats are for the candidates from other states. NIT Andhra Pradesh Scholarships

NIT Andhra Pradesh does not grant any direct scholarships to students. However, the college has an SC/ST Cell to help students avail financial assistance. Among various scholarships, Rajshri Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship is for the SC/ST students. This scholarship is offered by the government of Maharashtra, under this scholarship, all tuition fee will be waived off for the qualifying students.
