NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance and was established in 1961. NIT Calicut was ranked 23rd by NIRF in 2020 for the B.Tech program and ranked 3rd for Architecture program. NIT Calicut has also ranked 8th in ARIIA 2020 of Ministry of Education by Government of India. NIT Calicut offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses in streams like Engineering and Science departments. Some of the popular courses offered at NIT Calicut are B.Tech., B.Arch., M.Tech., MCA and M.Plan.

Admission at NIT Calicut for different courses is done on the basis of entrance examinations such as JEE Mains, GATE, NIMCET, CAT, and NET. The selection of the candidate for B.Tech. program is done through JoSAA counselling and M.Tech. is done by CCMT Counselling. For courses like MBA the selection is done based on the performance of the candidate in the GD and PI rounds conducted by the college.

  • NIT Calicut has a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) which has been set up with the assistance from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to promote and support technology start-ups.

Selection of candidates will be done depending on their ranks based on their performance in qualifying examination, work experience, CAT and group discussions and personal interviews.
MCA
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Fees: INR 2.36 lakhs
  • Eligibility: Candidate must have passed B.Sc./BCA/B.Voc (Computer Science) with aggregate of 60% marks or have completed B.Tech/BE from a recognized university and are eligible to appear for NIMCET.
Selection of candidate is based on the score of NIMCET.
Ph.D.
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Fees: INR 17,730
  • Eligibility: Candidate must be less than 50 years of age. Candidate must have completed ME/M.Tech in appropriate branch with aggregate of 60% marks.
  • Specialization: Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Management
Selection of the candidate is based on written test and/or interview by the respective academic department of the college.
