National Institute of India, Agartala (NITA) is currently the most renowned institute in North-East India. NITA has started the admission processes to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2021-2022. The college has informed that the last date of receiving application for MBA admission 2021-22 has been extended upto 30 June 2021. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission in M.Tech programme of NIT Agartala against sponsored seats for the academic session 2021-22. National Institute of Technology, Agartala offers engineering and postgraduate degrees in management courses, engineering, computer application and sciences. Admission to all the courses are purely on merit and entrance score of the candidate.

NITA promises a placement rate of 90% according to the data of the last five years. Students are recruited into both private and public sector companies. Jobs are usually offered in the field of automobile engineering, software engineering, development, data scientist and associate engineering.

NIT Agartala Placements

NITA promises placement packages to all final year students and as per the institute’s data, it was able to give placements to 90% of the final year students for the past 5 years. NITA conducts pre-placement lectures, seminars and job and career fairs to help the students face an interview or to opt for higher studies.

  • The first phase of placement happens in the month of January every year. The placement cell is headed by industrial experts and faculty heads.
  • Highest salary package was offered almost INR 36 LPA and average salary offered was around INR 5 LPA.
  • Companies that visited NITA every last year were Axis Bank, Verse, Future Group, Indian Army, Karvy Group, Vedanta, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Ashok Leyland, Amazon, IBM, Tata Motors and the like.

NIT Agartala Scholarships

Since NITA is a public government college, there are many scholarship schemes to support meritorious and reserved category and low income students. The college takes keen interest in nurturing students with academic ability in all possible ways to move forward in their educational career.

Some of the scholarships offered by the college are,

  • Award for Engineers India Limited (EIL) Scholarship to meritorious SC/ST students pursuing undergraduate courses in Civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer science, industrial, chemical or instrumentation disciplines. The scheme offers INR 3000 each month during the first two year of the course.
  • Dori Lal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship 2020 is exclusively for specially challenged students who are pursuing MCA / MBA / B.Tech / M.Tech.
  • Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students is a government funded scholarship of INR 50,000 per annum for every year of study for undergraduate girl students. The family income of the candidate should not be more than 8 lakhs per annum during the financial year.
  • Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana provides grants for purchase of smartphones to the students of final year undergraduate courses in any government college in Tripura. Eligible students are offered a grant of INR 5,000.

Ans: The seat intake capacity has increased after the college has been raised to an NIT. Presently, the seat intake for various courses are B.Tech- 1100, B.Tech+M.Tech – 25, Integrated degree- 75, M.Tech- 309, M.Sc – 39 seats, MBA-38 seats and MCA 30.

Ques: Does the college provide admission to international students in all courses under the DASA Scheme?

Ans: No. International students are provided admission through the DASA scheme only in B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA.
