Admission for the 2021 batch is going on. Nalanda University started the application process for Masters and Ph.D. courses. The registration deadline has not been declared yet. Candidates can visit the official website to apply. The application process has opened for both Indian and International students. The applicants need to pay a fee of INR 500 during the online application.

The Courses offered at Nalanda University are MA, M.Sc, MBA, Ph.D., and PG Diploma courses. Nalanda University was originally a place of learning in ancient India, bringing students from abroad until it was destroyed in a series of raids. It was restored recently in 2006.

Nalanda University Admission: Highlights

  • Nalanda University M.A. admission is based on merit.
  • Admission to the M.B.A program is based on a valid score in C.A.T., M.B.A., or X.A.T. followed by a Personal Interview (PI).
  • International candidates can also apply to Nalanda University for PG courses.
  • International students are required to have language proficiency proof such as TOEFL, IELTS, or any other valid test or course.

Basic Admission Criteria:

  • MA and M.Sc: Graduate degree with 55% marks;
  • MBA: Graduate degree with 55% marks;
  • Ph.D.: Master’s degree with 65% marks;
  • PG Diploma: Graduate degree with linguistic proficiency in a relevant subject.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicants need to to have a minimum of 55 % in a UG degree
  • Proof of English Proficiency required for applicants from non-English backgrounds.
  • For MBA applicants, a score of a minimum of 70% in CAT/ MAT/ XAT is also required.
  • For international applicants, a minimum GPA at the Undergraduate level needs to be 3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent GPA or relevant GMAT score
  • The applicants need to provide self-introductory or bio- statements and a statement of purpose followed by an interview.

Selection Criteria:

  • The university conducts an entrance exam and considers marks of previous qualification as well.
  • Entrance exam score with an interview is considered for admission.
  • It is a merit-based course. Bachelor’s marks will be taken into consideration.

  • The applicants should have a Master’s degree with 65% marks.
  • The applicants should produce a letter of self-introduction and two letters of recommendation.
  • The applicants must have a minimum of eight years of work experience ( for part-time applicants).
  • The applicants have to submit a statement of purpose.
  • The applicants should submit a detailed research proposal.
  • The applicants should submit evidence of research, such as two or three writing samples or published papers.
  • International applicants will need to submit language proficiency proof.
