Motilal Nehru College is one of the largest colleges of the University of Delhi. The college offers a total of 17 courses in 4 different streams. Motilal Nehru College provides five-degree courses i.e. BA, BSc, B.com, M.A, M.Com. Admission to the college is based on entrance exams for some courses, and merit-based for other courses.

MLNC New Delhi UG Eligibility Criteria

  • For BA (General) – Candidate must have a minimum aggregate mark of 45% in the last qualifying examination. The merit marks will be counted on the basis of one language subject and three other subjects.
  • For BA (Program) & B.Com (Program) – Candidate must have a minimum aggregate mark of 40% in the last qualifying examination.
  • For B.com (Hons)- candidates must have a minimum aggregate mark of 45% in the last qualifying examination.
  • For B.Sc in Physics and Chemistry- candidate must have an overall percentage of 55% in PCM and one compulsory language subject with 50% marks.
  • FB.Sc in Mathematics- candidates must have 50% marks in Mathematics and a minimum aggregate marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • For B.Sc in physical science with chemistry & physical science with computer science- Minimum 45% or more marks in PCM both Practical and theory together + Passing in one compulsory language subject (English).

MLNC New Delhi UG Selection Criteria

The selection of the students in the Undergraduate Courses of MNLC is completely merit-based, along with the following criteria depending on the subject:

  • BA in Economics – Candidates must have studied/qualified in mathematics in their Higher Secondary (10+2)
  • B.Com (Hons) – Candidates must have studied/qualified Mathematics/Business Mathematics in their last qualifying examination. Candidates also must have an aggregate mark of 45% or above in English or Hindi and a combination of the best three among the following subjects- Mathematics, accountancy, economics, and business studies/commerce.
  • B.Com (General) – candidate must have minimum aggregate marks of 40% or above in English/Hindi and a combination of the best three among the following subjects- Mathematics, accountancy, economics, and business studies/commerce.
  • B.Sc- candidates are selected on the basis of the marks in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science and mathematics.

MLNC New Delhi PG Eligibility Criteria

  • For MA in Hindi and Economics- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • For M.com- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in B.com with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

MLNC New Delhi UG Selection Criteria

  • Candidates for Postgraduate Degree in MNLC are selected via centralized counseling conducted by the University of Delhi.
  • Candidates must sit for the DU PG Entrance Exam for being eligible for the counseling.

DU Entrance Exam Pattern

  • Duration- 2 Hours
  • Type of questions- Multiple Choice Questions
  • Total No. Of questions- 100

Each correctly answered question will carry 4 marks, and there will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
