MHT CET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for MHT CET are declared by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. The eligibility of students depends on few important factors. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria, as mentioned below, can appear for MHT-CET 2021.

Educational Qualification Candidates must have passed their HS/ 12th standards in order to appear for the MHT CET exams. Also, candidates with 12th equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology from a recognized university are eligible to appear for the examination
Minimum Marks Candidates belonging to the general category must score a minimum 50% aggregate marks in their 12th. Whereas for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories, the minimum marks to be eligible for MHT CET is 45%.

MHT CET 2021 Application Form 

The application form was released online on the official website of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test on 8th June 2021. The last date of application form submission was 12th August 2021. However, the conducting authority decided to extend the application form filling again from 12th August to 16th August. The final form correction date was scheduled from 14th to 16h August 2021. Candidates who have successfully submitted their application form with the given time will be allowed to appear for the examination.

The steps to complete the application form process for MHT CET 2021 are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of MHT CET and register on the website.
  • Click on the hyperlink “MHT CET Application Form 2021”.
  • Provide all the details as asked in the application form, such as personal information, qualification, identification, contact details, etc.
  • Upload all the documents as mentioned in the application form.

MHT CET 2021 Admit Card 

The conducting authority has delayed the release of the MHT CET 2021 Admit Card. However, it is now expected to be released soon by the month of September 2021. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website once it has been released. Candidates must carry their admit card to the examination hall along with ID Proof (PAN Card, Aadhar, Voter ID, or school ID card). The steps to download the MHT CET admit card 2021 is given below:

  • Login using your user ID and password.
  • Candidates can download the pdf file of the admit cards directly and take multiple printouts for future purposes.

MHT CET 2021 Exam Dates 

The MHT CET Phase I exam was supposed to be conducted from 4th – 10 September 2021, while the Phase II exam was scheduled from 14th – 20th September 2021. However, because of the sudden delay in releasing the admit cards, the exams have been further postponed. The State Common Entrance Test Cell shall release the new schedule for the MHT CET exams soon.

MHT CET 2021 Exam Pattern

The MHT CET exams are mainly based on the syllabus of the 11th and 12th standards of the state level. It carries a total weightage of 20% from the Class 11 syllabus whereas 80% from the Class 12th syllabus. The questions will be of multiple choice question type and there is no negative marking. The medium of MHT CET paper I is English and for papers 2 and 3, the medium is English, Marathi, and Urdu.

MHT CET 2021 Marking Scheme

 As per the MHT CET marking scheme, in Paper I i.e., mathematics, candidates will score +2 marks for every right attempt. While for Paper II & III, candidates will score a +1 mark for all right attempts. There is no negative marking for the wrong attempts. The marking scheme for MHT CET 2021 is further tabulated below:

MHT CET 2021 Results

MHT CET 2021 results will be declared after successfully conducting the exams. The results for the MHT CET 2021 shall be declared by the 4th week of October. Candidates can download their respective result cards from the official website of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Candidates with higher scores will be allotted to their desired seats in the top colleges of Maharashtra. Candidates can also check their papers for rework in case they do not get a convincing score. The rechecking fee for each paper is worth Rs. 1000 which is to be paid by the candidate through a bank draft to the Director of Education and Research, Mumbai.

MHT CET cut-off is released after the seat allotments by the DTE. The cut-offs for MHT CET 2021 will be released after each round of seat allotments. MHT CET 2021 Imporant Instructions 

  • Since MHT CET is a highly competitive examination and a lot of students apply for it every year, you must be well prepared to clear the examination with good scores to get a seat in a good college.
  • Students should practice the practical subjects (Physics and Mathematics) as much as possible to score higher marks in the papers.
  • Chemistry is the most scoring paper in the examination, therefore make sure you prepare well and have good knowledge about all the topics in the syllabus. Follow the same procedure for the Biology paper as well.
  • Do not try to cover the entire syllabus within a brief time before the examination.
  • Go through all the important topics in detail and remember the formulas for the numerical.
  • Practice from the sample papers, and previous year’s questions. Take mock tests to get used to the examination pattern.
  • Focus on time management as you complete the papers. Try to complete a few minutes before the given time so that you can revise before submission.
  • Do not get nervous if you come across an unknown question. In case try the rest of the questions and leave the complicated ones for later.

MHT CET 2021 Counselling 

MHT CET Counselling will be done in two rounds known as Common Admission Process (CAP). Seat allocation process is based on the candidate’s preference of seats and merit list.

  • The 3rd round of counselling will be hep only for the Maharastra state candidates.
  • There will be no reservation for 3rd round of counselling.
  • Candidates must fill the preference form for counselling to choose the course and college as per their choice in decreasing order of preference.
