Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner is a state university in Rajasthan. Established in 2003 this UGC Approved university offers various UG, PG, and Doctorate courses in various fields like Art, Commerce, Science, Law, Education, and management. A total of 449 colleges that include both Private and Government colleges are affiliated to MGSU.

MGSU Admissions

Admission to most of the courses is merit-based while PhD and M.Phil admissions are based on the scores obtained in the MPCET exam and the performance in the interview.

The University accepts applications for various courses in both online and offline mode.

Along with the admission notification, the university also releases the online admission link and downloadable pdf file of the offline form.

How to Apply?

  • Visit the official website of the university.
  • Get the online application link and fill the form completely or, download the form for offline submission.
  • Take a printout of the duly filled application form and application fee receipt and submit it to the concerned department of the university
  • Attach the scorecard/mark sheet of the qualification exam.

MGSU Scholarships

The university allows students to apply for state government-sponsored scholarships.

  • Post-Matric Scholarship – This scScholarship is offered to students from SC/ST/OBC/EBC/SBC/DNT categories studying in class 11 or 12 to continue their higher studies.
  • Ambedkar International Scholarship Scheme for SC Students: This scholarship is meant for students from SC category to assist them to pursue their PhD program.
  • Rajasthan Yuva Vikas Prerak Internship Program (RYVP): The candidates pursuing doctoral degree can apply for this scholarship. The applicant should be in the age group of 18 to 35 years and should be familiar with MS Office and possess good communication and presentation skills

MGSU Facilities 

  • Hostel facility MGS University provides hostel facility only to girls. Hostel facilities are available at certain affiliated colleges at nominal charge. The university is planning to start hostels for accommodating boys too.
  • Bus Transport – The Transport facility is available for students and staff in the University. The buses run daily from the campus to the city at least two times.
  • Central Library – The university has a huge central library stocking around 7000 books that includes lot of reference and text books in almost all the subjects. The library also receives 170 journals across varied subjects.
  • Sports – The University has a very active sports department that encourages students to take part in sports activities. The sports teams of the university take part in various inter-college competitions.
  • Other Facilities – The university has all modern-day facilities for students like Canteen, Wi-Fi Connectivity, Auditorium, etc.
