The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Orissa was formed as a tribal school in 1993 and is the largest global residential tribal institute affiliated to KIIT University, Bhuvneshwar. It is a private institute that offers housing, food, and education for kindergarten and graduate students. It has collaborations with various recognized organizations like UNICEF, UNFPA, UNESCO, UNDPI, UNDP, UNSSC, UN Women, etc. According to the prestigious NGO rankings disclosed in 2016, KISS institute is listed among the global top 223 NGOs and also amongst the top 10 NGOs in India.
