Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College is a co-educational institute initiated by Late Ranadeb Chaudhuri and other eminent educationists in 1964 with a motto to provide higher education to the lowest economic people. The college came into the function in June 1965.

Recognized by the University Grants Commission(UGC), the college is permanently affiliated with the University of Calcutta and accredited with a B++ grade by NAAC. It offers about 22 courses in arts, science, and commerce(honors and general) at the undergraduate level. The college also provides P.G. programs in M.Com, M.Sc, M.A through distance learning in affiliation with Vidyasagar university.

Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the merit list, eligibility being having an aggregate of min 50% in higher secondary school. Entries to the U.G. courses can be made online through the college’s official website and for P.G. courses, reach out to the Distance Education Study Center available within the college premises.
