How to Prepare Notes for JEE Main 2020?

Study notes are the best preparation source for all the JEE Main 2020 aspirants. They help you in giving you a quick recap of the entire syllabus. Properly preparing the notes is very important. Your notes will end up being of no use if they are too short or too long. Good notes should be:

  • Compact and easy to understand.
  • Neat and tidy.
  • Must be precise and structured
  • Must include important formulae, tricks and shortcuts.

Following are the few tips on how to make your revision notes for JEE Main 2020.

Make your notes

It is always advisable to never copy or borrow notes. Others may prepare their notes from a different approach and as per their own need and understanding. Your notes should be customized according to your own need. Additionally, preparing your notes will help you get a better hold of the subject.

Keep everything handy

Try making notes on loose sheets and put them together in a file in an arranged manner. This will help you revise everything properly before the exam.

Avoid making notes in the first reading

Candidates try marking the important points in the first reading of the chapter. Unaware of what’s actually important, they end up highlighting most of the chapter. This will not benefit them in the long run. In the first reading, students should only focus on understanding the concepts. Notes should be prepared in the second or third reading.

Highlight the crucial points

Make your own legend as per your own choice. Pick different coloured highlighters for marking different things. For example, you can mark the concepts in yellow and important formulas in red.

Use Sticky Notes

JEE Main syllabus is deep-sea and is not something that can be achieved overnight. There can be numerous weeks of gap before you come back to the same chapter. In such a case, retaining everything that you have read is absolutely impossible. This is where sticky notes help. You can simply jot down important pointers on these notes and stick it on the corner of relevant pages. It will help you recall everything.

Make a note of your mistakes as well

When you try solving JEE Main Mock Tests and Previous year Papers, you may come across questions that you may have difficulty with. Keep a track of these questions in your notes. Take a quick glance at these questions before the exam and avoid facing any difficulty in the question paper.

Preparation Tips for JEE Main 2020

  • Understanding core concepts: Candidates should have their concepts crystal clear if they intend to crack JEE Main 2020 examination with flying colours. Candidates must start from scratch and study the basic concepts very thoroughly. Understanding the concepts makes your preparation more effective and helps you save time.
  • Understanding the exam pattern: According to the new JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern, the exam now will be conducted in three papers, B.E. / B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning. Paper 1 comprises a total of 75 questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section will have 25 questions – 20 MCQs and 5 numerical-value questions. Paper 2 comprises a total of 77 questions divided into three sections – Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing test. Paper 3 comprises a total of 100 questions.
  • Maintain a study schedule: Covering such a ginormous syllabus is not an easy task, especially when you have to cope with an equally important board examination simultaneously. Therefore, it is very important to prepare a study schedule. JEE Main toppers scoring 100 percentile have also emphasized on the importance of maintaining a study schedule.
  • Time management: An appropriate time management will help the candidates balance their JEE Main and Board Preparations and routine activities as well.
  • Imbibing confidence: It is very natural for a student to feel anxious and pressurized from time to time.  Don’t get caught up by complex topics. Just deviate all your concentration towards understanding the concepts and not the results of your performance.
  • Devising a smart preparation plan: Prepare flashcards and cheat sheets to revise the formulae. It’s more important to focus on how you are studying rather than how much you are studying.

Following a smart and practical approach will always help you in finishing the syllabus on time.
