Factors Affecting JEE Main Paper 2 Ranks and Cut Offs

The ranks of candidates depend upon the interplay of various factors like:>>

  • Difficulty of the paper – In case the exam is difficult, the cut-offs will go down. These benefits students with low ranks as the competition is minimised at lower ranks.
  • Number of candidates who appeared for the examination – More candidates mean higher competition. In JEE Main B. Arch and B.Planning paper, the number of candidates is very low compared to the NATA exam. This makes JEE Main 2021 B. Arch and B.Planning paper comparatively easy to rank higher.
  • Number of seats available for candidates – Although this does not directly affect the JEE Main Paper 2 Result of a candidate, if there are fewer seats for a particular course, the JEE Main Cut Off will go higher. The seat availability could oppositely affect the result.
