JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2021: Exam Dates
JEE Main was scheduled to be conducted 4 times this year. February and March sessions have already been conducted while the April and May sessions were postponed in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic. JEE Advanced, which was earlier scheduled to be conducted on July 3, has also been postponed by the Ministry of Education recently. JEE Main and Advanced are the national level entrance exams conducted for granting admission to premier engineering institutes throughout the country.
Registrations for the April session of JEE Main were completed. However, the exam is still pending. Meanwhile, NTA has not yet commenced registrations for the May session of JEE Main 2021 (which includes B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning exams). This is likely going to create panic amid aspirants who are awaiting their chances.
Update on NEET UG 2021
No decision on NEET UG 2021 has been taken as of now. However, NTA has released the new website for NEET UG 2021 and has notified that the registration process for the same will start soon. In early 2021, medical aspirants demanded that NEET UG should also be conducted in multiple sessions similar to JEE Main but NTA denied the request. NTA issued a statement clarifying that NEET UG will only be conducted once a year. As per the last notification, the exam is scheduled to be conducted on August 1, 2021.
The decision to postpone Class XII boards was taken in a high level meeting conducted on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and a decision in favour of the students was taken. CBSE will soon release the alternate criteria for assessment. The board will also provide the students who are unsatisfied with the marks provided with an option to appear for board exams once the situation becomes stable.
